So Woke Trump gave up on his woke tariffs, to focus on china. Couldn't handle fighting so many fronts.

He couldn't handle china retaliations so had to pause tariffs elsewhere, so he can focus on china. Now he is forcing Americans to pay 125% tax on china imports.

Won't hurt china short term too, Americans are stock piling products from china. Even SKorea, Samsung report records sales due to stock piling. The people hurt will be Americans who buy dirt cheap china product to rebrand and sell in US at astronomical prices. The tariff tax on Americans by Trump will eat into their profit. They may probably just raise prices.

He is doing it to collect taxes from Americans. Tariff is just a fancy GST,VAT system that discriminate by country.

So, instead of a fixed percentage (or based on product type) like GST, tariff is a tax with different percentages based on product origin.

At the end of the day, it is just a cunning way to raise taxes on Americans.

I wonder if he can collect more taxes by having factories in US vs. just collecting tariffs. Either way, products are going to get more expensive in US.

It is just Trump theatrics. He is actually trying to collect taxes from Americans through tariffs. It will takes years before the factories start operations.

They will just move 1 factory to US but will still have factories outside US that manufacture cheaply for the rest of the world outside US. Some American will buy from overseas while travelling.
