In the past, we've made a thread in Beehaw support to ask people what they wanted, did some filtering of our own and then included it in our Community Survey.
I don't think we'll do one very soon considering not all of the communities are up yet.
Well, we've defederated with other people in the past (and will continue to do so in the future most likely). Federated systems are not an all or nothing situation. IMO that's the biggest draw and improvement over a distributed system for social media.
I think personally that we should just give it time. We don't need to attract everyone and we've already got a lot of work to do.
I personally believe that what we have today is enough to serve as a battery for organic, natural growth through word of mouth. We just need to keep going and convince people through genuine effort that we can do better as a platform.
If Beehaw bans from the site someone that is on a remote instance, that account can no longer interact with any Beehaw communities. If Beehaw bans from the community someone that is on a remote instance, that account can no longer interact in that community.
