  • I haven't seen this personally in my state's database, and if this is happening in your state then it should be reported to the federal DOL Wage and Hour Division: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd

  • This is true, and again this is handled at the state level, but I know my state's database does include postings for remote work, though I'm not sure if it includes all of them.

In any case, I'd actually encourage reaching out via phone or email to your nearest job service office, if you're seeking employment. These places are federally funded by our taxes, so they should be able to answer questions and help guide you to whatever your best options are, even if that includes helping you find remote work with out-of-state employers.

  • I think all states have state agencies with their own job postings that have been better vetted than those on sites like Indeed or Monster. It works a little bit differently in each state, but you should be able to find information about job service offices in your state with contact information so you can ask about the details.

You still have to be somewhat wary of scams because some can slip through, but I believe there is a verification process for the job postings in these databases.

  • I used to get it in 2 days here in South Dakota, but around 2020 or 21 it started taking progressively longer, until it was actually slower than normal shipping times.

  • Please scroll down. This is not a new discussion, and I've already addressed all of this.

  • Oh OK. FWIW I don't think I've lost any tabs on Fennec, but I might have changed something in settings.

I like the way tabs look because I've never liked the idea of grouping tabs, but I understand people have different preferences

  • Poor people? You going to pay for them to relocate? What about the people in concentration camps? Gonna just leave them? You gonna create a nation where kids are born and never have a chance? That's a solution?

It's always nice to think we could solve all our problems by putting groups of people on an island or forcing red states into sovereignty, but such would end up harming the very people we're trying to help.

  • Murder mysteries are typically works of fiction that aren't exploiting other people's grave misfortune for the sake of profit

  • Hello from South Dakota! I'm in a similar predicament up here, so I get it.

  • I think people are reading the part where you said "corporations need to make money" and are jumping to the conclusion that you're defending the corporations.

I quit Netflix last summer, and turns out I don't miss it at all. There are ... other free sites of questionable legality for streaming, DVDs at the library, or even just like ... feeding the geese at the park instead.

These corporations can sell all they want, but we can choose not to buy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I think you're saying.

  • I'm always getting those crappy State Farm ads with celebrities like Ludacris, who always look slightly embarrassed to be appearing in the ads

  • Are you even getting two-day shipping anymore? I canceled Prime last year because my non-Prime items were arriving well before my Prime ones, with Prime sometimes taking two weeks.

With their sucky shipping, having to navigate a minefield of cheap trash-tier products, and now their video service getting riddled with ads -- I think if Amazon were just being introduced to the world in its current state, no one would even use it. We'd consider it a joke.

All Amazon has going for it anymore is that it's known and people use it out of habit.

  • Is this an unethical LPT?

  • Paid services with ads are unconscionable and should not be supported, but I do watch Tubi or Pluto sometimes, and it's not nearly as bad as the amount of ads I see on my parents' screen with cable

  • I always have to summon my own, and candles and goats blood have been hit hard by inflation in Biden's America

  • This is false advertising. My finds have never come with the demon.

This is the McDonald's Monopoly debacle all over again.

  • Oh, is it "Needful Things" by Stephen King?

  • Well then it's a good thing you're able to pay attention to all things at all times and look down from your high horse. Maybe some of us are paying too much attention to too many things at once, so solid advice, I'll try to fix that.

    I'll start by blocking you.
