Aggressive marketing is killing the love for gaming. There's nothing that can be done to off set the whales and that's so disheartening. Games have become a part of the day to day stress with needing daily log ins for rewards or to buy an overpriced subscription to play with friends. The fact single play games dwindle down more and more everyday is why I moved to PS just so I can enjoy them with games like Spiderman
The issue with calling it tipping is a tip is for a service that was provided and earned it. If you're paying before anything that's just a fee. Nobody is a victim drivers sign up and can leave and those who don't agree with the rules can stop using it.

Batman Arkam asylum was such a leap forward in super hero fighting games I remember replaying the demo non stop until the game was released
Spider man (2018) really took ahold of that fighting fluidity that arkam asylum introduced and enhanced it with a nimble character and a great story line that was engaging and trophies that were fun to go after.
I only got the shots I got because I had to now that it's optional I don't bother but it's the same with the flu shot. It's not that I'm anti anything I just don't get them.

Yupp and it still messes with my head. A friend's friend was hanging out with our group for the first time and he was super chill but the way he spoke just seemed really off and I couldn't explain it. As we ended the night his friend was gonna take off by himself as my buddy wanted to chill for the night. The next morning the guys sister calls my buddy and tells him that her brother hung himself. I know logically i couldn't have known but my gut told me he shouldn't have been leaving without my buddy. No drugs or alcohol were involved that night we were all 100% sober....
My best line was when my wife tried being funny and asked "did you turn the stove off?" My response was "no" apparently and she actually called her friend to go check. I was just trying to rile her up like she was trying with me.
Well no shit it's climbing. America is collapsing right now. People who have a genuine will to work aren't able to afford anything let alone a roof over their head. I have no shame in even admitting I'd be doing much harder drugs if I didn't have a family who needs me. My aunt who runs a rehab clinic says she is losing patients to OD and gaining new ones who never touched a drug until they started losing housing and food. It's cheaper to numb the pain than it is to get just a bandaid from a PCP for crying out loud.
I spent countless hours playing games and getting excited as hell with new launches or even just getting on. Nowadays I play maybe 1 or 2 games a year and If I actually finish them it's very rare. I could blame a busy life but honestly there's just no spark and I could speculate for hours why but truthfully I don't know why.
I've been here for about a week. I found that the creator for sync for reddit finally finished sync for lemmy and immediately came in. As others notice I'm sure they'll be joining as well. Everything goes up and down so it's not surprising to see a slight decline. Looking forward to the growth!
We are English speaking and as someone raising a kid it's really difficult at their age to teach and explain all the words that are spelled the same but can sound different. She loves to learn so I try my best. I wrote a sentence down that she likes to show people and read to them just to start but always asks why it is the way it is.
"My daughter liked when I read her a book the other day so I make it a habit to read 1 book a day with her"
That's the sentence she's practicing. There is a lot more to get through though.
