The dev welcomes suggestions just so you know. I used sync for reddit for years before he was forced out and he has helped me troubleshoot one on one in the past. I'm still learning how lemmy works but whatever the equivalent of subreddits is just look for sync.
It's definitely not the majority but having spoken with my cousin and his friends I get it. Why even bother voting things aren't getting better so why try? Voting for the best of the worst is just defeating as you know you'll still be working 2 or 3 jobs just to put food on the table. Plus people literally can't afford to take time off to go vote they need the money. Some of them are trying to support their sick parents or even kids.
I mean the carts are specifically designed for what they sell. Sam's and BJs are the same way. A smaller cart would be filled with just a couple items.
I hear this argument frequently but I'm curious how often does this happen to you where you need assistance? I've used SCO for as long as it's been around and I could probably count on 1 hand missing some fingers where I needed help. Sure back in the day with the faulty scales that kept tripping it was rough but manageable. I don't say any of this with malice I'm just curious if it's you or if you speak of a lot of people. If it's the later wouldn't it just make sense that maybe all the people struggling may just have difficulties with technology as a whole and not just the SCO?
I truly mean no ill intent or hatred as I ask these types of questions as a way to learn and grasp the realities of others since no one person can know and see all.
I really appreciate the kind gesture. I know I'll land on my feet even if it takes time. There are people worse off who could use the money and I could never feel right taking money without paying back or providing something worth the money. Life has its ups and its downs and right now it's my turn in the valley but I'll be back at the next peak soon enough !
We bought it for $222,222.00 with a $1,600 fixed rate. At that time we had a grace of 20% of our income for savings and such. Had to change jobs and kiddo got some medical issues. We are now at a loss of about 5% each month. Food and insurance is $2k a month alone now and that's after cutting everything we can.
I completely agree. Personally the video I saw wasn't 100% convincing mostly speculation however it shared some other points about how websites will start doing what YouTube is doing so they don't suffer the wrath of YouTube messing with their videos. I wish I knew how to find the video I saw on tiktok they had a YouTube channel I can't remember. I hate being THAT guy talking about videos without the link...
This is my biggest gripe with lemmy. A MASSIVE amount of links I try to follow is just paywalls or so damn bloated with garbage it isn't worth the effort
I mean this wholeheartedly and by no means do I mean to be rude or snarky. I'm glad that works for you but unfortunately there is a ton of us who have to use it for a huge list of things. I personally use it to learn how to fix or make things because for me I need a video for it. I use a bunch of work arounds and such but eventually this will become a bigger issue. Soon embedded videos will stop working for news websites and such at this rate.
This country Is such a fucking joke. My small family of three will be homeless in a month because we can't afford to pay for food and our mortgage. We make to much got any government assistance but to little to live....My daughter already lost her asthma medication because insurance doesn't cover it. I had to get rid of my insurance for myself because we couldn't afford it and it wasn't covering anything for me. I'd kill myself but the slim chance I'd live it would just bring on more fucking bills. Why even bother trying any more.
I switched to Firefox and using DDG as my search engine about 2m ago and I'll be honest I really don't care for it. I'm trying my best but I use my phone for 100% of my browsing and not being able to set a home page sucks and with DDG searching for stuff takes significantly longer to get answers with. I search for a ton of stuff that I just need a quick answer to that when searching for Google would just show the answer instead of needing to open links and such. I'm giving it a bit more time but I'll probably end up back with chrome.
This is really good advice I also want to emphasize this when it comes to motorcycles for the love of God just take your turn at stop signs and lights do not wave them on. I have been apart of and seen people almost die from it.
Can someone tell me what the point of prime is at this point? I don't remember the last time a package arrived in under a week and now there are ads of a shitty streaming service?
Honestly no matter how small the issue we should be bringing it to their door step like this. You have to start somewhere and take small victories as they come. It's the only chance we have at effecting them at this point.
This is the right way of thinking. I personally can't stand IOS but thats me. It would be awesome to have the option to run any OS even cooler would be if you could pay to have it official which of course will never happen.
Damn for a company that's been shutting down locations I'd think it be cheaper to pay their employees better than lose all those customers. My state alone has seen them shut down nearly every location.
I've never been really into believing entirely but I can suspend that belief for movies or to hear others stories but there was a series of events that happened when I was younger that gave me a scare.
My grandmother passed when I was 10ish and it was a very difficult loss for the family. My aunt had been living with her at the time and the family didn't like her being alone especially with a baby in the house. We all took turns having sleep overs and such while cleaning out the place and everything.
Fast forward a week and I'm staying over and she needs to run some errands leaving me alone. I wanted to make some chocolate milk but it was in the top of the cupboard so I went to grab a chair to climb up. As I come around the corner my heart sank and had a fear I'd never felt wash over me. In the middle of the counter was the powder. I could not explain how it could have happened everyone tells me it must have fallen and I just happened to land right way up and I didn't hear the metal container hit anything.
As this fear is washing over me out of nowhere the dryer started which hadn't been touched any time recently as it's been about 30 minutes since my aunt took off and she hadn't been doing laundry. I finally gain composure and decide no chocolate milk and didn't bother putting it away as I wanted proof so I go over to the dryer and it does have clothes in it. Thinking back I wonder if a load may have finished but a sensor detected moisture.
The last event (this all happened nearly simultaneously) was the phone in which was taken out of service a week prior began ringing. At the time I wasn't aware it had been taken out of service so I go to answer it and the caller ID was the houses phone number. Thinking nothing of it I answer and it immediately hangs up. When my aunt gets home the first thing I bring up is the phone which is when she tells me about it no longer being in service. At this point I ask to leave and go home. Obviously she asks why and I explain the events and I remember she helped calm me down but I don't remember how then she did bring me home. My mom years later told me my aunt was scared to go back and even had the same call I did.
I still can't explain any of it really and I'm not really a paranormal believer but even thinking back scares me a little.
