  • Yeah, same. I never used much CAD outside of that drafting class, but I got into 3D modeling for a bit starting with Sketchup and it was super nice to just go 'alright create a plane starting here, but make it 10'x6"' or whatever, then use push/pull to extrude it 3', etc, so I'm also used to specifying dimensions as I draw.

  • I used to live in New Mexico for a while and there was a common joke: how do you tell if someone is a native New Mexican? They keep a fire extinguisher in the bathroom.

It's not so much that you taste it on the way out, it's that there's undigested capsaicin that burns, uh, other mucus membranes on the way out. Fortunately not something that bothers me much either, but I get hints of it sometimes when my niece makes what I call her nuclear fire curry.

  • Sure, in bad moments I get short-tempered like anyone else in pain, I more meant generally speaking. I'm not cranky all the time by any means, even though I hurt all the time.

  • I take everything pretty much everyone says with a grain of salt, I am just amused by the fact that he turned what was obviously a barbed and leading question meant to - as he said - distort the truth back on the reporter and pointed out the fallacies in the assumptions she was trying to smuggle into the conversation with it.

  • I don't like drinking water. Obviously I can and do, but even then only filtered water with ice. But my main complaint is that it has no flavor, it's not very satisfying. Maybe it's because I was raised on soda, but I like something a little sweet and with a little flavor, so I drink slightly-sweetened iced tea.

  • Nah it's not. I've been living with chronic back pain every day for 20 years and it hasn't made me cranky. I have definitely lost some patience with blatant stupidity and what other people think, but my default interaction mode is 'be chill and get along with everyone'.

  • Good ol' Looney Tunes, especially Bugs Bunny. Partly just because it was hilarious, but mostly because my dad used to watch Bugs Bunny with me and we would laugh at different parts, cause they included jokes and gags aimed at adults too.

  • Expected by whom, society? Who cares? You do you, if you don't want to drink then a polite 'no thanks I'd rather get coffee' or whatever is all you need. Anyone who tries to pressure you into drinking after that is an asshole, and why do you care what assholes think?

  • Adam Sandler. I dunno that everyone likes him, but he seems very popular and lots of people seem to love his movies, but I can't fucking stand him. I don't enjoy his style of comedy, I find him equal parts vapid and grating in everything I've ever seen him in, I just don't see the appeal.

  • In the US Gulf War in 1991 they had journalists embedded with soldiers broadcasting live as the attacks were launched. There was a fairly well-known incident (which I can't seem to find anything about just now) in which some dumb-ass on CNN said where the group he was with was and what they were about to do on live TV and there was a big stink about it. I dunno if anyone was actually hurt as a result, but the potential was definitely there.
