Destroying surveillance infrastructure is community and self defense.

Not overreacting. Driving is extremely dangerous for yourself and others around you, not to mention environmentally destructive. And an increasing number of people are choosing to live a car-free lifestyle for these reasons.

If you live in an area where alternatives like walking, biking, or transit are viable, then I’d definitely consider it. If not, then you may not have a choice. But consider whether you can move to an area where you can avoid driving. Even as an experienced and competent driver, as I’ve gradually decreased the frequency I drive, my quality of life has improved a lot.

Biking especially is increasingly viable in many cities and even suburbs nowadays. However, if you’re forced to share the road with heavy cars and trucks it could be dangerous if you don’t have good situational awareness. But that is something you may be able to develop with practice. As someone who is a regular urban cyclist I feel my awareness and skills have dramatically improved with time.

Well they found the vehicle and it was a non-police vehicle disguised as police. So while this doesn’t 100% rule out it being police, it seems a reasonable inference.

PSL sucks but come on is this really the most important take from this situation? Fascist attacks on freedom of speech and freedom of assembly are a threat to everyone, even if you don’t like who they’re targeting.

I think the comparison to Germany is apt, but the solidarity needed to resist this needs to start by setting aside some of these differences for now.

Not the same but in US politics left liberals and leftists are part of the same coalition by necessity.

Although, I’m also not convinced this debate divides people cleanly in terms of ideology. I definitely know plenty of leftists who voted for Kamala.

It’s never the time for minority infighting. Make your case, recognize that not everyone will agree, collaborate on shared goals and work independently where there are disagreements. But don’t waste your breath tearing each other down. It’s just not helpful.
