  • And it’s interoperable with Lemmy for those unfamiliar. So you’ll be able to see and interact with the same content you can on Lemmy.

  • Can’t since she usually gets banned immediately lol. Good riddance.

  • I’m aware that Biden was somewhat hostile towards the protesters but that’s not what was claimed. None of this really answers the question of whether the Biden administration arrested protestors. That would be highly unusual since most protests are handled by local police.

  • Were student protesters arrested by the Biden administration? I did not hear about this. Link?

  • You can click a comment to collapse it and all children so I’m not sure the arrow feature is needed, if I’m understanding it correctly.

  • I wonder if there is a way without bloodshed. Would require a careful strategy and mass participation. Challenging, no doubt.

  • Yeah I think it's generally genuine... just people who are stuck in a cult mindset.

  • This is some seriously fascist shit. It starts with the immigrants because their legal protections are flimsier and it's easier to convince citizens they won't be targeted. But rest assured, this is just the beginning and we may soon see similar tactics towards dissidents who are citizens.

Can we find where this guy is? Can we free him?

I assume this will also be fought in court. Does the president have the authority to unilaterally revoke someone's green card? Shouldn't there be some kind of due process for this?

  • I can see why you would say this but the real issue in my opinion is not the annoying users, but the extremely intolerant mods and admins who will remove any factual information that is inconvenient to their narratives and ban you for trivial infractions. Even mild criticism or discussion of historical facts around the CPC or Hamas will result in an immediate ban, sometimes from the entire instance. It's not possible to have healthy discussions on these instances.

I don't mind discussing those ideas elsewhere but it simply can't happen on Lemmy.ml due to the restrictive moderation.

  • Probably fine as long as you don't talk about politics or anything related to China or other "socialist" countries. But yeah I get the feeling.

Someday I hope someone else will be running this project, or we all end up shifting to another federated software like PieFed or Mbin. You could consider contributing to those projects instead if you are wary of the lemmy devs--they're all interoperable. But the idea behind the fediverse and open source software is that even the devs will have limited power, so I think we're still better off than on Reddit, despite these issues.

  • It's not perfect but the advantage here is you can choose whose administration you want to be subject to. Avoid the tankie instances and you'll usually be OK. Lemmy.ml is particularly pernicious since it's run by the developers and sort of masquerades as a general purpose instance--but it is hostile to any who don't support their extremist ideology.

I say fuck Putin all the time and haven't had any issues since I left that place.

  • First off off, it’s not true, and second off, I don't want to answer questions about that. Lets focus on Rampart people.

  • Agreed. My sense was there was a disproportionate Jewish presence at Palestinian liberation protests I attended.

Hating entire groups of people based on assumptions that they are all the same is always ignorant and wrong. People just need to remind themselves of this no matter how “right” it might feel in a particular instance.

  • Nah I was just curious how people mean it. I don’t give a shit about the rules.

  • Well then that’s probably a violation of Reddit policy. And some Lemmy instance rules.

  • I’m a special snowflake and I don’t really identify with people in any particular area. Though I guess I do know my tribe when I meet them. But we don’t really have a name. Intellectual hippies maybe.

If I had to pick one then probably my neighborhood is how I would identify.

  • Thanks for your opinion. I think different people have different meanings when they use this phrase.

  • Lol if there’s no answer it’s also an answer. So do what you will.

Also, I don’t believe vague calls for violence like this are even illegal in the US. Has to be something specific and actionable.

  • Sure but there are many possible ways to solve that issue.

  • When you say eradicate, as in remove their station in society or actually kill those people?
