Rice and beans is for those poor people tho 😭 Missing the essential nutrient of "living things suffering" that I need to live. I mean how else do you explain to things that don't speak that you're better than them in every way? Rice and beans only feeds the weak ass flesh water balloon you control, killing feeds the ego.

I'd rather switch to eating Dung Beetles because I can't dominate beans. The rice has no fog of war or technology tree. I don't understand how people eat without just killing absolutely everything in their path. I personally stopped buying beef from the grocery stores and just started going out into the fields at night to drain blood out of cattle's neck. This is also true. But then again, I was raised Mormon. There are things that make the founding Mormons sound like real badasses. Eventually I got out of the church, and learned that somehow some of the craziest shit the church says about church history is usually partially true. Lead was used as a flavoring agent for a very long time amongst the upper class in history. Often added to water or wine to make it more sweet. Obviously it's fallen out of favor now that we know what lead does, but it was a big deal in Rome.

So yeah, humans historically prefer lead water for some reason.

If this were the case, vaping nicotine would have pretty much no downsides. Look man I smoke way too much, but saying nicotine isn't inherently problematic and unhealthy is stupid and it's cope. Nicotine itself is considered toxic, if it wasn't it would be prescribed off label all the time and we wouldn't have the need for things like Effexor that are pretty much just long lasting and non toxic nicotine.

Yep, it doesn't matter what your job is, no matter how undesirable you think your job is, someone does it for fun. Someone also does your fun as their job.

Cigs are extremely useful for chron's and other such issues. Not healthy, but you have to understand there is a trade off for quality of life for some people. I could stop smoking, but I'm pretty sure I'd end up spending the extra 20 years I'd be alive as extra time on the toilet 🤷‍♀️

I mean, kind of? Nicotine is literally a natural pesticide, it's actually quite destructive towards everything it touches. Smoking causes dental issues, which cause far more disease than you'd expect. Also being unable to run up a flight of stairs without dying a little bit probably makes it worse.

It's not "no cis folks" it's asking to recognize that this is a trans space, on an explicitly trans Lemmy instance. Cis people can participate here the same way trans people can interact with cis spaces. If we want to enjoy it whatsoever, we just have to accept a certain level of shittiness to conform to those social standards. I'm saying that in a space where there are 30x more trans people than average, also on a dedicated trans server, yeah this is an explicitly trans space at this point. You may not like that, but I hate how Lemmy.world is pretty much entirely dominated by cis people, it is what it is.

Cis people can come here, they can even make their case for things they believe. People of different perspectives add to communities. Monoculture is never good. However, there needs to be some empathy in the way we feel like we're walking on eggshells anytime we're not talking to other trans people. We both feel like outsiders in the same way, and I don't necessarily like that, but I also don't think there's any way to actually explain that in a truly applicable way. Lived experience goes further for empathy than anything, yk?
