  • Yeah, same here. The thought of eating what's in that photo is actually repulsive to me. My go-to if I want something simple would be plain broccoli, black beans, and some lightly seasoned chicken.

  • Another issue is that publically traded companies have a legal fiduciary responsibility to shareholders, but there is no legal responsibility to society or ethics. In fact, even laws supposedly designed to constrain businesses only carry fines for the business (and rarelyany responsibilityfor the individuals making the decisions), so it's more of an ante to sit at the big boy's table.

  • If you're ever confused by how poorly people drive, sit somewhere with a lot of foot traffic for a bit and observe how so many people can't even walk in a way that makes sense or without being a rude POS. Adding a vehicle to the equation only increases the stakes.

  • That's a great idea. Hopefully, while adopting the most recent understanding that the overwinter huddling behavior is due to the insufficient design of artificial hives, not typical behavior. They should be cozy, too.

  • I know folks don't want to hear this, but this anecdote is quite dubious. Big companies don't move that quickly, especially in a business as complicated as health insurance. There are various plan levels and many individualized, specifically, for certain employers, as well as many elective medications (wegovy anyone?) for this to have been done in a couple of days. There's no way these CEOs and executives said to just blanket approve all prescriptions. They would just pay a substantial amount for personal security, with company money, while maintaining their profits.

  • There really is this two pronged society. If you're black in America, emergency services are not available to you, though they damn sure make sure you pay for them. Every last one of these pieces of shit, including the dispatcher, should rot in prison.

  • I don't talk on mic, because as soon as I do, all the white folks, women included, start hurling racist shit in my direction. I'm definitely not interested in forming a community with that trash. Ultimately, though, I'm thankful that anonymity makes white folks comfortable enough to express their true selves. I'm never under any illusions that they can be trusted.

  • I think sometimes folks just go overboard and end up making what would be valid points into easily dismissed statements. Given our societal norms, hair would be more gender affirming if an individual is presenting as feminine. A better example for men would be treatment for low t.

  • Hell yeah, Ms. Showalter was the shit. It didn't matter that you were 9, there were fitness standards to meet, and she'd be damned if any of us bastards were going to bring her numbers down. That was my first experience with an educator who pushed you when you didn't believe you could do it and hyped you up when you finally did. She was so gruff, but we all loved her and swarm her at school events, even when she'd pretend she didn't like all the love 😂.

  • Yeah, sure, maybe, but the more pressing issue is that this legislation was clearly designed as tool to aid the Israeli's genocide of the Palestinian people. This will effectively allow our government to shut down any organization providing humanitarian aid to the genocide victims from operating in the US. This will help the Israelis achieve their final solution goals, by ensuring that those that aren't killed outright, suffer and die from preventable causes. Never again my ass.
