  • After that nonsense yesterday and an untagged furry porn community showing up on my feed today, I'm one shitpost away from blocking this instance. Most of the users seem like decent people, but I do not want to consume that content or lose my job because some nosy ass saw a thumbnail of anthropomorphic "girlcock" on my screen, I have NSFW blocked for a reason.

  • That's a terrible summary of my statement. I didn't say I agree, I said it has happened,, the course is set. This one election in one country isn't the root cause, even if they are accelerationists. The world is a cruel place, always has been. I'm done spending my energy worrying about it, I'm resigned to humanity's well-earned fate.

  • The rest of this century is only going to get progressively worse for everyone, regardless. Wealthy nations, as a whole, will not be spared. Oligarchs, including the wealthy from "poor" nations, will be able to extend their time of comfort, but it will catch up with them to.

  • This is what the people wanted, so let them have it. They will leave a polluted, ever hotter husk to their dim-witted and suffering children. Good for them! I've made sure I haven't reproduced, so I'll just enjoy what I can while I'm able. They've decided on their children's inheritance, who am I to argue?

  • I'm also against tax dollars spent to build toll rolls, especially if they are handed over to private entities. I'm not familiar with your postal system, but it would be odd if it requires a significant amount of public funds to operate.

Yes, the lowest income may not be able to afford cars, but that ignores the large swaths of barely surviving folks that can and do operate vehicles out of necessity. For instance, many in the service industry or "unskilled labor" likely have to commute in to work in these places they can't afford to live. Depending on their location, there may not be public transportation in the meaningful sense to get them to work. There should be provisions to address this, but there often isn't.

  • I don't have a dog in this fight, though I do have two concerns with this approach in general.

    1. Were these roads funded by taxes on the public? If so, will this be addressed now that the public is essentially barred entry without further paying?
    2. This specifically targets, impacts, and restricts those with lower incomes. Are there any provisions to address this? Likely not.
