  • What should I post? Like legitimately, I'm mostly into sports, but short of copying what's getting posted in /r/NFL and /r/hockey, what should I do? Or maybe it's just that? Pick some of the best posts from those subs and bring them here organically (none of that dumb mirror/bot shit that discourages people from commenting)?

  • Yes you're right. A feature so popular that it's been adopted by most major auto manufacturers is complete garbage. Everyone hates it. Graphene is only even adding it to appease like 3-4 people tops!

  • Your reading comprehension and understanding of English vocabulary is about on par with your lemmy account age.

Til things like "urban sprawl" are inefficiencies inherent to electric cars, and the lengthy list of these inefficiencies are definitely not drawn parallel to ICE in order to suggest that people should instead drive neither as the underlying theme of the post, particularly given the theme of the sub, which I am able to observe because I've been here longer than 16 hours.

  • My favorite part about this sub is how everyone acts like the entire world is able to just stop having a car and be able to carry on normally about their lives as if cars haven't been forced into nearly all infrastructure plans globally since this inception. Like it's every citizens personal choice that nobody built a functioning transit system in the many decades before they were born, or that the place they can afford to live is too far from the place that pays the wages they need to live is too far to bike or bus to.

Like, push for fewer cars and less car centric design, but also stop being a fucking cunty dick about it.

  • I wanted to lose weight for my wedding. I was 230 pounds (up from about 220 pre-covid) and I wasn't happy about how I looked or felt. So I got my wife (then fiance) onboard and told her I wanted to lose weight and started calorie counting. I set a goal of 185 by the wedding (September of the same year). I got there with 8 days to spare, and I love that I look fit and happy in all of our beautifully wedding photos.

The key is to start small, set attainable milestones, and have a support system. You need to feel and see success or you won't stay motivated! I couldn't have done it without my wife who helped by putting every calorie of every meal we made into the tracker. I made every five pounds a celebration, and a "cheat/treat" day. There will also always be set backs, and disappointing days/weeks. That's where it's important to keep perspective and be proud of how far you've come, and use that as motivation to keep going.

  • If you live in the south LA area his name is twinky and he's a little shit head. But we love him.

Also we got him fixed along with the rest of his colony. Feel free to dote on him!

  • A better question might be why shouldn't they? I'm not being pedantic (at least not intentionally) but if their defining characteristic is that they're nothing special, just a simple Linux distro that does the basic shit easily enough and looks nice - that has major appeal to people unfamiliar with Linux looking to leave other OS's behind. The vast majority of people that use an OS really have very little idea how it works or why. They just want some basic level of understanding and control over it.

  • You know what else is random and probably related to their paid content? Their sorting doesn't work right anymore. Posts in "hot" are regularly like more than a day old but then also some are brand new like minutes old. But if you sort by top 24 hours...same posts. Sometimes the order is different but easily 75% of the posts are the same. A 24 hour old post with no new comments is "hot"? A one hour old post with 20 comments is in the top posts of the past day?...OKAY
