And stop getting my fucking hopes up when I search for a movie and the titles autofills only to show me you don’t have it.

“Anyone get get you coffee, but I can give those pants you love pockets” would honestly draw my attention. Funny in a non-crude way, expressing a creative hobby (conversation topic!) that solves a problem that women actually complain about (versus what is said they want)? Not a bad intro!

I think it would be vaguely adorable if after I used the external water dispenser on my fridge a medieval age person hesitantly asked me if I descended from Moses.

Hotheaded, or steaming mad.

Double dipping with purses, executives often being men, and clothes looking svelter without pockets.

I know a lot of seamstresses, from quilters to knitters to stitchers.

Without fail, if they make their own clothes, they add pockets.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a woman in possession of clothes, must be in want of pockets.

For any lurker out there: a lot of it is just mental. It can be a hurdle to get over the first few times, but once you start posting and getting responses it feels more like a conversation than a feed, and you can get more out of it.

I lurked exclusively on Reddit because there were too many people to be able to talk to anyone (there’s a Yogiism for you). It’s all just a series of comments there.

So give it a chance, see if you like it some more. There are plenty of nice, knowledgeable and talkative people here to meet.

I don’t know how much a Not Interested designation does. I’ve done that for channels where I don’t want to see THAT video, but still like the channel in general.

What I do is just block the channel: if this is what the channel wants to espouse then I’ll do better by eliminating it entirely.

I’d argue that gaming and memes are much bigger contributors.

“How’s the job search coming?” is usually meant to be encouraging, but it can feel like a stab in the back if you read it as “still unemployed, huh?”

What can help is to approach this from a “seen any job opening that piques your interest?” view. Think of 2-3 positions, locations, etc., that you can talk about with some interest. Maybe you’ve never worked in that field, so you tell the person that you hadn’t considered it before and what might draw your interest, or there’s an opening in a city/place you’ve never been and you can talk about that. Most people aren’t looking for the spiel, so this satisfies them without embarrassing either of you.

This doubles as practicing interview questions (“why do you want this job?”) that you’ll need in the future, anyways.

I just checked: there is an option for them in Voyager, nee wefwef.

That and the option to go back to the post - instead of just your comment - under your comments makes Voyager a tempting switch, but I’m getting used to Memmy and it seems to load faster.

I have seen that part of that may be due to subreddits going from private to open, so you suddenly have comments again.
