  • Fighting(?) the good fight, O Canacha.

  • What conservative opinions are you presenting that are distinct from discrimination or willful ignorance of modern science?

  • That might stave off some people, but plenty of trolls and harassers in general are happy to play without karma.

  • -slides loaded briefcase across table-

I would like one (1) healthcare, please.

  • Here’s a condensed version:

“It’s not that mistakes were made, you just got angry. Spontaneously. Weird how that happened, when we love you just, like, so much.

Anyways, let’s move on. Fill out a form to become a member of an unpaid focus group.”

  • An alternative would be what Wikipedia or Ao3 does: a banner pinned to the top indicating their needs.

I don’t think a one time fee that small would be enough, especially as the Fediverse/this instance grows, and while it’d be most convenient to put it straight into the app, as another option, I imagine Apple would swallow a hefty chunk of any earnings.

  • I think something like metaright@kbin.social would be more the ticket, but I know that Memmy doesn’t have an option in the inbox for either mentions or messages, just replies, so you might not see it depending on what you use to access Lemmy.

  • I just want someone to set up a loading bar beneath them that varies depending on how complete/fucked up the flag is.

  • Watch people build a graveyard of dead 3rd party apps, which gets wiped every so often by admins.

Which then gets covered up by a vague drawing that oscillates between a middle finger and a pixelated penis.

  • If they were just odd they’d have a lot more success because you kind of have to be odd to be good at CS.

It’s more the rapey, incely, tendency to see women as a different and incoherent species that has the women in CS either walking around with their hackles raised all the time or quietly slipping out the back door.

  • In fairness, it can be both: larger, settled populations of one ethnic group in a country make it easier for other members of the same group to integrate now, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t (and isn’t) racism involved in making it harder for other ethnic groups to immigrate and settle in the past.

  • Upvote and then downvote from the feed works on Memmy.

  • Because the text is small, I read it as “Cat, Tiny beast, Unhinged” and didn’t question it for a moment.

  • The vast majority of the challenges handled in the March hearing that Ramsey attended had been submitted by Frazier, who had challenged about 1,000 people registered at nonresidential addresses, such as P.O. boxes or businesses[.] […] At the meeting, Frazier defended his challenges. “I’m free labor trying to help the system to make sure everyone can vote,” he said. “I’m not trying to suppress anyone. I just want clean voter rolls for a multitude of reasons[.”] […] When Frazier himself was challenged in 2022 for being registered to vote at a business address — he sells vegetables from his farm at his house — he decried it as a “frivolous retaliatory challenge” from someone he himself had challenged.

    Emphasis mine.

They are always lying. They are always lying. It is always about winning, it is never about principle.

  • Same here. I stopped the day of the blackout and stayed off. It sucked, but I figured it was better in the long run. And when Apollo went down it wasn’t like I was going to download the fucking app of theirs.

Since June 12th it’s been nothing until about a week and a half ago, when it’s been Lemmy only.

  • Something like a “Current Topics”? I haven’t looked but that might cover opinion pieces as well.

Still, I don’t want to get too militant about proper placement of submissions, because being anal about categories being separate and distinct and ne’er the twain shall meet just doesn’t foster as much discussion as letting places be more malleable and take on the flavor of their communities.

  • Hey man, I’ve seen you around, posting a bunch of interesting (albeit rather scary: “VC Qanon is not something I wanted to exist…) articles and wanted to thank you for bringing content here.

  • The slowness is healthier, in a way. I’m reading a lot more articles than I did on Reddit, and I’m no longer a lurker.

With apps like Voyager and Memmy I’m cautiously optimistic, a few hiccups with instances going down notwithstanding.
