  • A single missed payment typically is a small ding and not effect your credit in a major way. Bankruptcy is going to in almost all cases multiple delinquency and debts. I don't agree that bankruptcy will fuck your day up.

  • I've had several missed payments to utilities the most recent being 3 months late(dumb auto pay shit) and have zero marks and an 830.

My mother (dumb and irresponsible) had missed payments and none of those hit her scores either. I don't believe this is wide spread from my personal experience and a quick Google doesn't return anything promising so I'm not sure I can agree with that at all.

  • I think you might just be missing some of the content. I think from the commoners here others have noticed this trend as well. I couldn't care less just just saying I only see it here. Though I do spend less time on Reddit these days.

  • Not even close 🤣 what an absurd thing to say. You really think following social rules is the same thing as participating and having a financial history of posting back lent money is the same thing?

Edit you know what, never mind I see you all trying to compare imaginary insurance Facebook scenarios and pretending like that's how a FICO works. 👌👍.

  • FICO is kinda stupid in some ways but with responsibility it's not hard to get a decent rate/favorable score. Yes at the top end is dumb you need to open more credit but in practice that's not hard to do assuming you aren't just forced by circumstances to just live off credit.

  • I don't mean this mean I'm genuinely curious. Do you not use the front page or only really occasionally use lemmy world?

I'm just so curious how you don't see this every day on the feeds. Again I'm not meaning this like, GO USE A SEARCH ENGINE! it's just that this is such a prevalent topic here, and lemmy is so niche, how you've avoided an answer up until this post?!

  • I've worked with 1 known ftm and didn't know until 4 years in. I work in a 250 person org which is fairly progressive. I wonder if it's that easy at a lot of bigger and vc tech.

I have worked with plenty of neck beard types, as well as more average folks. So this meme doesn't match my experience at all.

  • It's on most of the sports stealing sites. There was also a reddit sub dedicated to it. Not sure if it's still around but it's probably worth a search. I get the service for free and don't have the same restrictions so I'm not really up to date on the current methods 😑
