  • When I was a kid my dad would trap local stray cats, drive 50 miles away and then release them. If you have a forest a fair distance away you could do the same. It's not a great solution, but it's something.

  • Just search "sort" in the settings and you'll find a spot where you can set the default sort. I also switched mine to hot.

  • If you click on the 3 dots to access the post options for a post from that instance, there is an option to filter out just that community or even that whole instance. I've done that with several non-english instances.

  • I heard a "friend" was unable to load his subscriptions feed on that same instance in sync but loaded local, everything, and individual communities just fine.
