  • Chevy Chase after Only Murders in the Building like

  • Yeah, both aspects of the movement/culture were very real. It's the same in the poly communities of today. You have people hiding behind the positive veneer of modern polyamory to abuse. You also have people so genuinely overflowing with love that they need at least two romantic partners to use up their normal level of romantic energy. And most people are somewhere in between those two extremes.

  • <3 My 100% Merino Wool Aran Crafts coat. This is a shameless unpaid advertisement. My coat is an absolute treasure. I mostly shop used clothing, and my coat is used. I'm athletic and outdoorsy, and it's still hard to find quality, durable clothing. I'm lucky enough to generally like the asthetics of sturdy clothes, but I still have to pick around the crap. I'm also lucky enough to be of a shape and size that gives me many different options while thrifting, so I can be picky and find good clothes, but even I sometimes leave Goodwill disappointed and hoping for better luck next time. I gotta get pants for this winter, like a whole new pants selection. Hopefully it's not too painful.

  • I live down the street from a college. Many of my neighbors are college students. I've seen roughly this look on a handful of very young men in the last year. I've seen guys in their early 20s/late teens playing sports in roughly this outfit. It is coming back/fashion is more fluid these days. There are still trends, but many young people wear all sorts of stuff that just looks good on their bodies with little regard for era or popularity.

  • Not the point the (honestly fucking terrible) article was making, but this never would have happened at a formal dispensary. NY needs to get its shit together. They've created a system where the poor are still stuck in a dangerous illegal system while those with time and money to get across the city get to enjoy a safe and comfortable experience. My city of ~160k in the Midwest has more legal dispensaries than NYC. Answering detailed questions is part of it, and I guarantee that at least my dispensary is a safe space for trans people.

  • I can't hear well enough to do this. Even if I turned off the fan that drowns out the tinnitus, I wouldn't be able to hear my wife breathing like that o_o

  • Tired and low effort/energy. I got promoted at work, and my brain has been working overtime to learn a bunch of important stuff as fast as possible because we lost two managers in about two months and they need me. So I bust my ass at work getting the hang of my new position, my first job in management of any sort, then come home too excited and full of thoughts to sleep well. So I'm trying to power down for a few days because I might be closing by myself as soon as this weekend. I love my job and management team. My assistant manager is my best friend, someone who genuinely cared about me before either of us got promoted. So today I'm sleepy, but satisfied.

  • My actual high school experience. I enjoy math these days. When I was expected to learn and demonstrate it, I was an unstable teenager unsure if I hated myself or my parents more. (Spoiler alert: it was my parents >_>) Doing math made me slow down and make space in my head, which let out all the dead Hanks and Deans allowed the TRUAMA to flood in.

  • My Discordianism is explicitly scienctific. There isn't a scientific theory or study or concept I'm aware of that is incompatible with my interpretation of Discordian teaching. Discordianism was initially developed by a computer scientist. Idk what disorganized religions you have experienced, but Discordianism has always been rooted in scientific thought. It was always intended to be a quantum physics compatible system of belief, a disruptive philosophical response to the disruptive scientific discoveries of the 20th century.

  • I'm just here to remind everyone that DISORGANIZED religion is an option! Not that we want you to join us! Fuck that shit! Consult your pineal gland if you're so god damned determined! Mine is fucking busy!

  • My ADHD methodology involves getting good sleep (a lifelong challenge that took me more than thirty years to figure itself) followed by huge amounts of caffeine as zero calorie energy drinks to take the place of prescription stimulants. I also have low blood pressure. So I'm like a whole new person once I've eaten and medicated, but I need a long time to wake up and come around to my full performance level.

  • I have ADHD and have always just needed way more caffeine than most people. I usually have 20omg of caffeine two or three times a day when I'm working. I use those Celcius drink powders: zero calories with an energy blend. Meaningfully less caffeine than that in a serving makes me foggy. Red Bull 90mg of caffeine with sugar is molasses for my soul. I need 200mg caffeine with protein! I start the day with a meal, 200mg caffeine, 200mg CBG, and 300mg Welbutrin XL. I also have low blood pressure, and the caffeine helps me with that when waking up.

  • I don't really have an inner child. My childhood sucked. I have nightmares about feeling angry and scared and trapped like I did as a child. My adulthood just keeps getting better. I'm learning to enjoy life and the world for the first time, and I'm a more productive member of society for it. What you describe is totally alien to me.

  • But these "incomplete" releases are often still much more game than a finished ps2 game. And we don't really know how finished the devs considered their games at the time. We know based on found content that many of our "finished" classics had cut and canceled content that could have been completed and released/activated on the funds from initial sales if patching had been a technological possibility. They have bugs and glitches that are just part of the game because they couldn't be fixed after release. There are old games that are or can be legitimately impossible to complete on certain platforms because they have a glitch or potential hard lock if you make certain choices. And once printed they were permanently broken games. Games have been coming out incomplete for a long time. At least now they can be fixed.

  • If you're genuinely not using it as a gaming machine, you could take it offline for use as a blu-ray player. That would at least let you skip the OS updates. And mine only complains about the shutdown if it comes unplugged or we lose power while it's on or in rest mode. It never complains if I fully shut it down from the menu.

  • Aha. So it's SwiftKey that is incapable of saying, even sarcastically, that the Senate is doing important work.

It also seems like some people were unable to interpret my previous comment? Idk why else I'd have a bunch of downvotes for pointing out a particularly amusing typo...

  • Really don't indeed. I assume you couldn't force your fingers to spell as ludicrous a lie as the originally intended sarcasm.

  • Looks damn good in this picture for his mid 70s

  • I've gotten pretty good at not writing them to begin with these days, usually. Sometimes I want to argue and fight <_<

  • You can't change the primary background color outside of theme presets? That means I can't make it dark and pink, which is a deal breaker when I have such a gorgeous Sync theme going. I'll keep it downloaded, though. There were things I liked about it for reddit. I may come back around.
