  • BMW owns MINI, and MINIs are special. I'm never gonna subscribe to heated seats or anything like that, but I'm also never gonna own a full sized vehicle if I can help it, and MINI makes some of the best compact cars on the market.

  • I try to own it pretty hard these days. There's still a surprising amount of stigma around the actual facts of truama, despite the language of truama becoming mainstream and the effects of generational truama being a central theme in popular art for the last twenty years. People aren't embarrassed to say that they had a shit childhood or that something bad happened to them anymore. They're embarrassed that it isn't entirely in the past, that they show signs of traumatic things they haven't fully accepted as part of themselves. And they can't find people to relate to because they can't acknowledge an essential part of themselves. I try to turn that part of their life equation on its head: I immediately call out and identify with truama responses and patterns whenever I see them.

  • Yeah, I'm a weirdo. Treating others how I want to be treated would be a fucking problem. I don't like unstructured time in my workday. Forced breaks are traditionally fifteen minutes of me anxiously spinning my wheels. The golden rule would stipulate that I try to make sure other people get as few breaks as possible because I sincerely usually prefer to stay in my task flow/mindset. The reality is that my coworkers appreciate the flexibility my work style affords them. I will be there taking care of shit whenever they need their unstructured time. They can count on me to provide them with the opposite of what I want.

  • I don't understand how people can have sugar with their primary source of caffeine. Caffeine just doesn't hit me right with any calories. I also hate coffee, so I live on those Celcius powders.

  • When I really click and get along well with them. When I just get someone inherently, I know they had a fucked up childhood. "It's complicated" is as close to a good relationship with their parents as most of my friends get. See, I myself wasn't raised right, to put it lightly. I have a sixth sense for people with childhood trauma. My best friend has cptsd, and so do I. We're crazy in the same way, and it's great.

  • Oh you're good. I actually put it in there after seeing your post. You and the Hexbears inspired me.

  • The show I'm a Virgo has a character who's superpower is basically adhd. She moves extremely fast and is constantly bored. I identify deeply with Flora, especially at work. I struggle with boredom and unstructured time, so I do like twice as much work as most of my coworkers. I'm routinely sales lead without really trying. I thrive on the busy days that most people find overwhelming.

  • Except I'm not a man, and I don't have a cave. I'm a woman, and I have a cage. But it has to be accessible to my wife so she can let me out eventually o_o So again, no agility stairs allowed.

  • Yeah, never take it for granted. You gotta do it on purpose with your feet every time. Learning to purposely activate intuitive motion is the goal. In a way, they're extraordinarily zen stairs. You have to be right there on the stairs every time.

  • Psh. The drugs never wear off. She smokes weed all day every day.

  • Yeah, I am, without sarcasm, super agile and coordinated. I would love to have these steps. It would be fun for me every time. And I'd feel so safe at the top of my tricky stairs. Unfortunately my wife would never. She'd just be trapped downstairs.

  • Function and design parity between versions? I don't even know what that means. Would that require teams to talk to each other? Because we nixed that to prevent unionization.

  • Literally none of the things you listed here count as modifying your body? As a reply to "nobody should have to arbitrarily change their body for their employer," "sometimes there are practical clothing and equipment requirements" is practically a non-sequitur.

  • A cat is fine too....

and other evidence I'm getting old

  • For me personally, I'm a woman who is mostly attracted to other women, but I'm kinky af. Reddit has/had lesbian specific versions of a lot of NSFW subs. Having occasional lesbian content in niche communities isn't the same. There are other very specific things that are personal to me, but needing more lesbian content would be the biggest category for me easily.

  • Double weird. What platform are you using? It doesn't show for me on Sync or mobile browser.

EDIT: Is my first example there struck through for you? Because I only have one tilde cancelled?

  • You need two tildes for a strike through. Like so.~ Should look like this.
