  • I'm on kbin Greg, can you reply to me?

  • Excellent! I'll give it a watch/listen! Thanks!

  • Do you know any good actual plays? I'm only a straight ally, but I'll be damned if I'm not a sucker for cute as fuck queer love stories.

  • Whenever someone talks about fate there's this moment of fear, because it's so close in name to FATAL. It's only for a moment though.

  • It's not as bad as you're thinking. It's very much in the modern style of powered by the apocalypse games, but instead of investigate then combat, it's romance then combat. It's, perhaps obviously targeted at the LGBTQ community, and that shines through in the art and mechanics, with non LGBTQ relationships being almost an after thought.

If I had to describe it as simply as possible, I would probably tell you to watch She-ra and the princesses of power.

  • And it's not like American hospitals don't make money hand over fist

  • A VN/RPG that has romance and doesn't make it an after thought. Like in most persona games or fire emblem games or even like mass effect. When romance is a thing, once you hit that we're a couple button that's pretty much it.

But then VNs represent the opposite end of the spectrum where you make the decision to pursue someone and that's it, the entire narrative shifts to completely focus on that. I want a middle ground, where there is one structured narrative that asks the question "How might chasing down the big bad change if this person versus this person was the person most important to the main character"

Like for example of you wanted to woo the nerdy tech wizard, following his or her story might involve tracking down parts and materials to improve tech and brace against the coming of the bbeg. On the other hand of you want to romance the overeager hothead it might involve trying to take the fight to the bad guys while saving puppies and children along the way. Completely different paths with the same end goal of defeating the bbeg.

  • Talk to a major law firm about accepting the prize as anonymously as possible. Take the lump sum -payment to the lawyer team and divide it into thirds. One third goes into a trust that I can direct friends and family to with instructions to offer assistance for major life events, weddings, funerals, education and the like. That way I never have to be the bad guy who says yeah, no.

The second third will get invested into low risk bonds so I have a stable income forever

The final third will become what people normally do with lottery winnings, new home, that kind of stuff

  • Ah yes, let's sacrifice grandma because it's what the economy would want. Oh but wait, let me guess the next rebuttal "it was just a cold".

  • At first I assumed ricer referred to a kitchen tool that made vegetables into the shape and size of rice

  • I bet you were fine with the PPP loans being forgiven, weren't you?

  • Yes.

    Jump
  • And even worse than poison sandwich...

    Pickles

  • And avatar 2 was terrible for this, too.

  • Once upon a time it was the only concept that could get me back into a 5e game, but now pathfinder 2e has the automaton so I can play the same character concept there!

  • Does the title mean radiographers or radiologists? Both are pretty important to how smoothly a hospital runs, but only one is actually a doctor.

  • I don't know with what weapons world war 3 will be fought, but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones.

It's usually attributed to Einstein but I'm not sure if that's true. It's hard to believe any quote that's attributed to him at this point, honestly.

  • No. No, I can not. It’s real life; I do not have a pullcaster and there are no robot dinosaurs.

    That's unfortunate

  • The other fun one from reports like this is grossly normal

  • Hard to say whether it would have changed anything. He was in a vicious cycle that's claimed many before and since, but it would have been nice to at least have him see the magic he brought into the world.
