  • And these social media outbursts aren't accomplishing what they think they're accomplishing.

I'm extremely technical, but not actively into Linux, though I've set up various distros dozens up times. These posts have driven me away from Linux in an extremely hard way - anyone with opinions like the Kernel team simply don't deserve support, and Linus is clearly past his prime and making bad decisions. This has shown me that Linux is going to (likely already has) slowly stop improving due to its explicitly anti-progress leadership. Until a fork with good leaders manages to take a real market share, the OS will stagnate.

I'm sure this is a minority opinion, but to claim that the social media blitz hasn't had its intended effect is objectively false. Fuck the kernel team.

  • This isn’t the time of magazines and newspapers telling folks who to vote for. If the internet can’t make a viable third party stand a chance I don’t know what can.

You're trying to light a match underwater. A third part cannot survive in the current American electoral system.

  • I haven't been proud to be an American in a long time. We were looking for a house, now we're debating if leaving is safer.

This country is doomed, and everyone who voted Trump deserves to burn in the fires they helped create. Fuck em, I have literally no sympathy left.

  • I'm not arguing for or against blahaj, just your description of "not alienating people," which is objectively false and you clearly agree.

And yeah; I don't respect people who make a joke of other people's existence. I don't care what their motivation is, drag makes the rest of the community seem lesser for their trolling.

  • At best it would hamper some FOSS AI researchers that don't have the resources to curate a dataset.

If you can't source a dataset, then you shouldn't be researching AI. It's the first and single most important step of the entire process.

  • We need more information - what are the prompts you're giving it? You'll also probably have to give context with API docs

If you haven't played with LLMs much, the best advice I can give you is to be more verbose. Seriously, write something like TEN times more than you think you need.
