Every day I the thought that I'll never retire becomes closer to reality. My IRA is only 2 years old. I can't bring myself to check on it because I expect it to be gone. I'll just let the dude who manages it stress over the details while I stress over the big picture.

I agree. She wasn't even resisting mildly, which was awesome. She was just grazing the whole time which made it difficult lol. There are days where she doesn't want her mane brushed and she'll move away. She's never gotten very forceful with grooming, but I also never push her boundaries when she isn't in the mood to be groomed too much.

It was a lovely 55F today! I'm so glad I went out to see her. I had planned on going tomorrow but learned it's supposed to storm, so I changed my plans to today.

I mean, she didn't pull herself away _too_much while I worked, so I call it her letting me lol. If she didn't want me braiding her mane, she wouldn't have allowed me to touch it at all lol

Acceptance and resistance.

Accept the things you truly cannot change and resist the injustices/cruelties that you can take a stand for and help to change.

Took me a hell of a long time to learn to accept certain things as absolutes, like the fact that suffering is an inherent part of life, but I have always been one to fight against things that can be changed. Not all suffering should be inherent to the human experience, though, and a lot of it can be fought against.

I also have long movie-like dreams and oftentimes they have sequels and I wake up remembering both the original and new dreams

I want to braid her tail, but she rubs her butt on her stall wall a lot and I'm afraid she'll just rub off all the hair. The hair on the outside of the base of her tail is SOOOOO short and the rest of her tail is pretty thin. Like the individual hairs are really thick, but they're sparser than I'd like. She's like 30, so that isn't surprising lol.

I thought beware of dog signs were to cover your ass if you have an aggressive dog or to just keep people off your property.

My neighbor regularly brought her granddaughter to my yard to play and visit my dogs without my consent and didn't stop when I asked her to. I got a beware of dog sign and she got the hint. My dogs aren't aggressive or anything. I just don't want her to sue me if her granddaughter gets hurt on my property.

I try not to give horses people candy too much just because it isn't the best for them. Horses don't get their teeth brushed, but do get them floated every once in a while, which is just filing down the teeth to get sharp edges away and make the teeth smoother in order to chew better

My problem is finding my medications. It'd be nice to know where they come from.

How do I find out if my meds are made outside of the US?

I'm fortunate enough to have really great parents. Like exceptionally great. I get legitimately really sad for others when I hear that they don't have awesome parents. I can't imagine going a day without talking to my mom. She and I talk every morning to make sure we both get up and get ready for the day. My stepfather and I don't talk as often as my mom and I do, but he has been my only true father figure.

My biological father was an absolute piece of shit for most of my life, but he got his shit together and I see him as a good friend now. He and I talk almost every day, mostly about pets or work.
