  • It's possible to criticize Biden and be unhappy about his age without acting like him and trump are equally as bad, which a lot of "centrists" do to justify not voting. Those people are the ones being criticized in this post.

  • How small was this library? My town's local library is more than big enough that I would be able to move to a different room or floor or section to escape noise, and they had a designated children's area downstairs. Even in smaller towns I'd imagine the average library has more than a single room. I live in Canada but I wouldn't think it'd be that much different in most places in the US. Heck even my university library had multiple floors and was more than big enough to escape noise in one location especially with noise cancelling headphones.

  • What, why tf wouldn't the cashier have to open the drawer? Why wouldn't they have to record the sale? They'd still have to account for the loss of inventory. Even if they did the 99 cent thing all a cashier would have to do is keep a pocket full of pennies to be able to do the exact same thing. None of that makes sense as an explanation.

  • It's not an army of people storming the gates to take over the country it's individuals or families trying to climb a wall or swim across a dangerous river and risking death to try and escape a bad situation or make a new life for themselves. Or in regards to legal immigrants struggling to be processed it's an issue with a lack of resources allocated to them. Maybe some of them are criminals but contrary to popular belief most criminals that deal in border crossing either have a way of getting through the border "legally" or don't have to cross the border themselves at all. And it's the "criminals storming the gates" style of border crisis that these people in the convoy are imagining.

  • I mean YMMV. When I put in an effort to refuse the urge to think or say negative things about my art and tried to come up with general ideas rather than a specific image I had in my mind that the real project would never be able to replicate, I found I became a lot more satisfied with my own work because I was no longer comparing the results to an impossible to achieve version of it that I had in my head nor was I constantly hyperfocusing on the flaws. I instead just targeted aspects I wanted to improve at the most.

  • You'll never get the talent if you never draw, so even if you think it'll be shit draw it anyway. Ignore skill level and stop treating it as a barrier instead of a challenge. That's how I improved, when I stopped caring about whether I thought I could pull off a picture. Now I just attempt to draw it and if I fail to achieve the effect I want I try again and see what I can do differently the next time. Caring too much about whether I was skilled enough or whether the outcome would be good every time held me back because I became too reluctant and scared to start any projects.
