  • Cause it's really difficult to apply a subtle hint of makeup to enhance existing features. Men (usually) don't get a ton of practice at it, so they use a heavy hand.

People that say they hate makeup USUALLY just hate heavy, poorly done makeup.
People that say they hate cosmetic surgery USUALLY just hate heavy, poorly done plastic surgery.

I hate when people feel they need to apply makeup they don't want, and hate when people feel they need surgery to look good, but there are definitely people who do both for the right reasons, and do them well, and people DO notice the improvement, they just don't always notice why.

  • Ever is a very long time. We have the technology today to build a colony on the Moon and on Mars.

When something is a science problem (i.e. - warp drive) we might never achieve it, because it might not even be possible.

When something is an engineering problem (i.e. - just bigger rockets) we ALWAYS eventually get there. It just takes a small group of people with the right motivation to get it done.

  • True, but you are mixing up a little bit of the timeline of the universe.

The CMB is from a time about 300,000 years after the "big bang" where the entire universe was basically a giant red star. It was the first time that any light could shine, because before that, the entire universe was so dense that literally no light could move. There were no comets or asteroids because there was literally no way for anything solid to form. https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Space_Science/Herschel/Cosmic_Microwave_Background_CMB_radiation

The time of the comets and asteroids were billions of years later. Much later, after the galaxies, and then our solar system developed. This was about 10 billion years after the time that the CMB was being emitted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late_Heavy_Bombardment

  • TL;DR - An abortion ban won't literally be on the ballot, but if a GOP president is elected, that person will likely try to use an old, unproven law to try to ban many abortion services. This will have a chilling effect on abortion providers, but will likely end up in the court system, and the law is likely to be overturned (but not guaranteed to be).

The title is confusing because abortion was LITERALLY on the ballot in many states, but it will be FIGURATIVELY on the ballot in the national election.
The US representatives are very backwards on reproductive health care, and social services in general, but the population has been overwhelmingly supportive of women's reproductive rights over the last few election cycles. This has absolutely backfired on the GOP and there's an entire, very active, generation of voters that are turning REAL ACTUAL left on many important issues.
I can only hope this continues.

  • Ok, I feel like I was transported to an alternate dimension where these words mean something.

I read the article, and it was full of references to other things I have no idea about.

What the hell is a live service game?

  • You are getting some dangerous advice in this thread that can make things worse.

You already have a bite, that's a huge sign that you have escalated past the normal behavior stuff. Talk to a professional, talk to a local organization, like the local humane society, respected training center, or your vet, and get some real advice.

Pushing back and acting violent towards a violent dog can get you hurt and the dog put down.

  • Based on the fact that the screen is blank, I think @grue was correct. The certificate that tells the system that the infotainment was valid was incorrect, so the infotainment couldn't load. They used the dev-infotainment cert instead of the prod cert.

  • Fat finger in this context typically means that the person knew what they wanted to do, but typed the wrong thing. Their "fat finger" hit the wrong button. Possible that they wanted certificate 123 in the build, but they accidentally typed 133, or something like that.

  • Depends on who you are and what part of the planet you lived in. There were a lot of good things about the 90's, but it was a pretty dark time for most minorities, especially anyone in the LGBT+ group. Heck the US didn't allow same sex marriage universally until 2015, and the first state didn't allow it until 2004. Even outside the US, I don't think any country allowed equal marriage rights until into the 2000's.
