  • No, that would be an awful thing to do. You have to allow people to zealously defend themselves from any accusation. Also, in the US, the fifth amendment protects the citizens from being forced to testify against themselves. So punishing someone for pleading not guilty would directly violate the 5th amendment.

  • They don't say why the US hasn't paid out yet, and the way it's stated in this article and the linked article inside implies that it's a failing on the government side.

With the significant delays and attempts to bring in off shore labor, it's much more likely that the factory hasn't hit the targets needed to receive the subsidy.

The government is using the cash as an incentive to build the factory, not just handing out cash for no reason. Just like the Foxconn factory that failed in Wisconsin, they need to hit milestones to get the money, it doesn't get handed out upfront, otherwise they'd risk a company just taking the money and running.

  • Really depends on the rules vampires exist under.

I'm guessing some people wouldn't care and just want in, but there are quite a few vampire mythologies that would be a really awful existence.

  • It was extremely close to collapse after over 800 years. They had time, just not an unlimited amount of it. People with a lifetime of experience and education knew how to work through the issue, and had a good idea of how long they had.

They closed the area off, did some tests, and worked slowly because some of their ideas made the problem worse. You don't want to rush solutions on completely unique problems, with completely unique artifacts.

  • Ehhh.... I wouldn't go so far as to call him apolitical. I used to watch his stuff, but he's drifted pretty right over the years. His stuff used to be pretty neutral, but since he started his book publishing, and the WWSD rifle project, he's just been slipping right wing stuff into his content.

It doesn't show up in the mainline informational videos too much, but his ad pushes and his side projects, which also show up on his main youtube channel, definitely have slid downhill.

  • Imagine buying an extremely expensive luxury vehicle, whose features are completely at the whim of some thin skinned billionaire.

Just remotely turning on and off different things in your car depending on who pissed him off, or pandered to him, that week.

  • Just about any dog can do it, as long as you can find a good reward system for the dog. Mine loves playing fetch, so once we find the person we're looking for, that person gives her lots of attention and fetch play.

It took a lot of work, and a lot of help from other people, but she's really good at it now.

  • Biggest problem is that they cheap out on the tech parts. Nobody complains that an iPad has a touch screen, cause it works. But an appliance tends to have a crappy UI, running on a crappy touch screen, powered by a crappy CPU.

If they just used quality parts, it'd probably be fine, and the only issue would be expensive replacement for an entire assembly, instead of small, cheap parts that can be fixed.
