  • Even crazier, they can filter out disease in the transporter. That's how they don't bring plagues back onto the ship after going on away missions.

How do they tell what's a natural microbiome vs. crazy alien bacteria? Who knows, it's a fantasy space show. Just sit back and relax.

  • If he was a non producer, then you would have a stronger argument, but as a producer he may have been negligent in hiring someone unqualified.

In a normal setting, pointing a gun at a person would be negligent, even if you believed it was empty. I don't know the industry standard on movie sets, but pointing a real gun at a human when not in a scene would be at least careless, possibly legally negligent.

That's for the court to decide.

  • Charges can be dismissed with prejudice or without prejudice. If they are dismissed with prejudice, you can't be charged again. If they are dismissed without, then you can.

Depends on when, by whom, and why they are dismissed.

  • It would be if it was licensed more like music. You pick the service that has the features you want, and they show whatever movies or series you want.

The main reason piracy is getting more prevalent now is because you have to subscribe to a dozen services to watch everything, so it's just easier to download a torrent than it is to juggle subscriptions.

  • There is a market on eBay, but the longer you sit on it, the less it will sell for.

People have broken parts they need to replace, and there's a semi-active community of people who use framework parts to create mini-servers that need a little more power than a Pi.

Not selling when you don't need it is just hording.

  • If you answer no to any of the below, then get the vaccine.

1 - do you want covid
2 - do you want your friends to get covid
3 - do you want your family to get covid
4 - do you want your community to get covid
5 - do you want covid to mutate more and make treatments start failing
6 - do you want to fill hospitals so nobody can get treatment for anything else
7 - do you want things to get bad enough that we need more drastic action

  • No, because that's just an excuse to re-home children. The argument needs to be "is the bio-home safe for the child"? Not, which home is better. We must default to keeping the kids with the bio-home, even if another home is "better", it's not good enough.

  • I felt the opposite. Imagine being familiar enough with one of these that you can be the wizard that walks up and makes the magic work again.

All it would take is time working on a rotation of maintenance of these things.

  • Even if they shut down today, the parts are out there. You can swap in from a donor laptop in ways that would be impossible for most others. Not to mention the fact that the critical parts are upgradable with standard parts from 3rd parties.

They supported the same hardware upgrade cycle for three full generations.

Even if they don't keep going forever, they still succeeded in a huge way.
