If it makes you feel better, most of my major fuck ups are cooking related. I was boiling down some dr. Pepper for jerky marinade and fell asleep. Didn't wake up to alarms until my wife woke me up. I'm one of the messier people here (male), and I wonder if it's because I think of cleaning as an efficiency thing. Like walking around and getting it all at once is quicker per item than taking each thing to the kitchen individually. The cleanliness does bother me, but not that much unless I don't have enough surface area to do what I need to do at any given time, which is when I clean it all at once. It's highly bases on the inconvenience of the space and hardly on the appearance unless I have guests.
