  • I feel like we have a lot more obstacles in our way than the French did during their revolution. Most notably heavily armed militaries, inscrutable governmental ties with wealthy elites, and a large fraction of the population conditioned into thinking that our current system is infallible.

  • I finally picked up Exanima after years of being put off by the early access, but damn what a unique and engaging experience. Reminds me of the first time I played Oblivion or Demon's/Dark Souls.

It's a game where your own experience as a player is your greatest asset. I highly recommend it for anyone into slow dungeon crawling and looking for a challenge unlike anything else.

  • Getting back into Monster Hunter World! Trying to tackle those endgame Iceborne quests and getting my ass kicked quite often. It's really satisfying getting a good build going with armor set bonuses and stacking skills.

Also finally playing Super Mario Odyssey. What a game. The controls are so tight and responsive. I love exploring every nook and cranny, high and low, and almost always getting some kind of reward out of every effort and idea.

  • I was almost interested in Season of Discovery but then I remember Blizzard's (lack of a) policy on bots. For me it really devalues the time and effort I put into the game when a quarter of the playerbase are botting and ruining the economy.

  • I have given Alan Wake so many tries but I get so bored by the whole into sequence. I think it suffers from the many (novel at the time) video game tropes of the late 2000s.

It's odd because I absolutely love Max Payne despite it being much older.
