  • SSRIs and SNRIs helped a lot of people, going after them is a recipe for disaster.

Sure, I'd prefer if fewer people needed them, and they do have downsides. But in my opinion, the reasons for the mental conditions that require treatment are mostly societal, and there are no signs of these improving.

What's the alternative going to be? Tricyclics? Therapy for everyone? I suspect it's a "fuck you" to everyone affected.

My only hope is that he'll actually push for legalisation of psychedelics which in some cases might offer an alternative, though they come with their own downsides (e.g. a friend of mine is on SSRIs but probably couldn't replace them with psychs for his depression because he had panic attacks and could be at risk for psychosis).

    Luckily we aren't US citizens.

  • I didn't want to imply the NL forces things happened under CSDP; it was just an example of military cooperation between member states.

I just wanted to give some examples of European military cooperation that's not NATO as the other comments implied nothing exists / it would fail due to national interests or whatever.

I hope we'll see more cooperation in the future

  • NATO has a lot of infrastructure already including designated response forces, a command structure etc. In addition to that, a European alliance exists(CSDP), though unsurprisingly, it's not the same as Europe's NATO efforts, as it would have been basically duplicated effort since most EU members are also part of NATO.

An example of coordinated European defence is the fact that the Netherland's armed forces are now under command of the German military. So efforts are underway.

  • You don't configure GRUB directly in NixOS. You configure it like everything else via NixOS modules which are pretty robust (but with enough energy, you can probably create something that passes evaluation but won't actually work). Only my VPSs use GRUB, the rest lanzaboote and none of these ever broke.

So I'd say breaking your GRUB config by accident in NixOS is very unlikely.

  • It was very nice of him to come up with a new story why people should pay this insane price for the stock. Fanboys were getting embarrassed repeating it for so many years, at least to the extend they are able to be embarrassed. But now they have something else.

  • None of this matters, you know they'll have robots in like two years and Tesla will be the company worth the most, with a value of the next five companies combined*.

*This is what Tesla investors actually believe; Musk claimed this on the last earnings call last week.

  • It was obvious for anyone with half a brain that the referendums were sham back then. It makes no sense to hold these after the fact that you send unidentified militia there except for trying to legitimize a scheme.

They now dislike their Rus liberators.

I'm actually more surprised people still speak Ukrainian there, I would have thought Russia put Russians there but I guess they either don't want to go to these villages either (only the Krim) or they needed them elsewhere.
