  • A trick you can use is to say something outrageous and see if they react or not. Like say "I'm gonna take your playstation and sell it on ebay, is that ok?"

And it's also fine in any conversation to occasionally ask "Are you hearing me?" or "Are you following what I'm saying?"

  • Nah it's fine as long as it's all upfront. Personally i don't mind doing a couple of simple quick chores -which i would like to be sure of before renting, and i know that some people don't want to do any chores -which you should be allowed to filter out those listing. Everyone wins except the scamy userous airbnb hosts.

  • STATISTICALLY it's invalid. Even your examples are not applicable because it sounds like they didn't want to cause you any bodily harm, they just wanted a house to easily rob of Christmas presents. Same thing with the bear and wolf, it didn't come in there wanting to hurt you, it just wanted food.

In both of these cases the best defense isn't shooting at an unidentified figure in the distance on an assumption that it's someone coming in with an intent to hurt you

  • Yeah my sympathy to her and her loved ones, but we shouldn't give a single thing in exchange to get her back. Every western country has their absolutely highest DO-NOT-TRAVEL-TO warning for russia. She had to actively work to get around every roadblock just to get there. Sorry, but we can't save you from yourself

  • No. Fucking NO. It's insane to me that anyone could've lived through the past 10 years and not see how necessary it is to always use the /s tag. There's reasonable evidence that Donald Trump's original campaign never would've even got off the ground if it weren't for people sarcastically supporting him and idiots not realizing it was sarcasm

  • Friend googles topic from his home wifi. You visit friend's home for a couple of hours with your phone's wifi enabled. Even without signing in to his wifi your phone still logs that you were in range of his wifi for 2 hours. Now you'll get served ads for the topic that he googled about, because people who spend time together often have similar interests, or you may mention the advertised product to him if he ever talks to you about the topic.
