You can tell those apart from ones written by a person because they cram as many keywords in different combinations as they can. It's infuriating, because those articles inevitably are wrong about the solution, but they're always the top results because they win the keyword battle. I use QWant for my search engine now, and while it's WAY better than Google it still serves some of those sites up when I'm troubleshooting something because the keywords are just too strong.
And unfortunately IDK of any alternatives to YouTube. A big part of the problem is that some of my favorite creators only upload to YouTube. I don't want to switch to an alternative and lose a large percentage of the content that I like to watch, that would be pretty shitty.

100% with you on Joplin, I use it all the time. I love it. I haven't yet found anything I like more.
I tried Obsidian recently and was turned off because the notes aren't encrypted in place like with Joplin. To me that's just a really nice privacy feature that I don't like the idea of sacrificing, especially not to a not open source project.
For close to 2 decades we had near 0 interest rates. VC daddies used that as an excuse to throw loads of money at every itiots pet project because hey, why not? They were able to absolutely roll in money and take out loans at criminally low rates.
But now rates are getting back to actually sane levels again, and suddenly the vc daddies are all sad because the infinite money pit has dried up and they actually have to be responsible with their money again. So now they're turning to all of the companies that they gave money to and are saying "hey remember when I gave you money? Pay me back now. I don't care if it means you have to fundamentally change the service that's making you money, get me my money or I'll bring you down with it."
And since our economy is structured such that the money of wealthy people is more important than literally anything or anyone else in our society, the companies have no choice but to comply. So they all raise their prices and shore up the holes that weren't letting them milk every cent out of their users.

When you're a country on the other side of the world and you're trying to put troops in place to surround a country you've arbitrarily decided is your "enemy" then that's a clear, open threat.
Would you have believed Russia saying that their troop buildup on the border of Ukraine in 2021 was "defensive?" If not why would you expect Russia to believe the same of nato? Russia at the time was claiming there was no intent to invade, just like NATO does.
