  • As a parent I'd externally be ashamed and blame brainrot.
Internally I'd be absolutely dying at the scene.
On the drive home I'd take it as an opportunity to teach the child about target audience.

Its actually a good chance to teach about right place and time. Some people don't know you can't teach coworkers as "buddies" because then HR gets involved.

  • Not upset just saying I consider myself intelligent and well educated but my parents never taught me this. They were renters and so was I.

We even got a clog and landlord for a plumber out. Once in 10 years.

Knew enough to waste hot water and pour boiling water down the drain to help it out.

I learned in my mid 20s to stop. People have different circumstances with their upbringing.

  • Newer generations and less likely to own homes due to global housing markets cooling down. This is directly proportional to the inverse of fucks residents have about plumbering.

That said I wasn't raised to know this until the internet taught me. Then I started freezing them in cans and tossing in the trash.

  • As fun as it is to shit on Microsoft I like thier approach to AI.

It doesn't replace staff. It helps them work more efficiently like having a personal assistant. Putting knowledge in thier hands to bridge gaps.

One example I saw was using AI to generate a Python script in context to make a chart with future predictions using a simple prompt and input. So instead of bothering your developer to write your basic Python you use AI for this tiny basic bit.

  • Me: Prints text document in black and white
    Printer: REPLACE YELLOW CARTRIDGE
Me: Cancel. Goes to printer settings. Set BLACK ONLY. Print again.
    Printer: REPLACE YELLOW CARTRIDGE
Me: Throws printer in the trash. Picks up 10 year old laser printer for $50.
Printer: Auto installs. Prints from original cartridge.

  • I used to do house calls a decade ago for IT work. Often customers offered me beverages.

Had a European who worked at the UN for decades make me tea. Blew my socks off. I've never enjoyed tea, but it seems like we just don't know how to make it!

... The next month I was offered tea by a American. I wasn't expecting it being made by a pro, but let him try.

He put "hot" tap water into a cup and tossed a teabag in.
    I fake drank it.

  • I was on a 3 lane highway going interstate. Doing 80 in a 65 on the fast lane. Big rig in the middle lane. Slowly gaining and will pass the bog rig.

Then a pickup is coming up in the fast lane TOO FAST. Easily 100mph. She tailgates me. Now boxxed in with me in front and the big rig on her right. A sane person would go in the third lane and pass us since zero other cars around. But no.

She lays on her horn and starts swaying with impatience.
So I match speed with the big rig. Maintaining the box. She honks ways more and sways even more. Shaking her fist at me.

I maintain it for another 2 minutes until my wife gets concerned she'll rear end us and we end up spinning off the highway or under the big rig.

I give in and speed up past the big rig and change lanes to her wacko pass. They speed off.

Yeah it's never worth it. You never know what people will do.

  • I absolutely agree. I didn't make my point of learning the native language. I'm annoyed by native Spanish speaking immigrants purposefully not learning English while living in the USA for decades.

It seems it also happens with Americans that migrate to other countries.
