  • Please get your podcasts off my fucking Spotify. Go fall for your ad-driven MLM bleach supplement only 5G diet scams somewhere where it doesn't shit up the UI for people who just wanna listen to some music. K.thx.bye.

  • Lmaooo Biden started this so they kissed trump's ass and now trump is doing it too. Can't even suck up to a fascist right nevermind make anything of any use to anyone. And did they really think all the years of passive progressiveness and the vomit inducing corpo memphis queer art would be forgiven by the cheeto man himself?

  • Nah I drop like a rock as long as I've not had more than 4 cups of coffee or 140mg elvanse and I don't keep vaping in bed apart from a few good night puffs.

I do sometimes get insomnia from being understimulated though so I usually need a YT video on while I fall asleep to keep my own thoughts about random projects and other bs out of my head.

  • I just use NFS tbh, I'm really sketched out by smb's access controls on Linux and how it masks files, plus all the weird windowsy overhead, with NFS it's either read only or read write and it's a whitelist system, I have to add IPs or subnets manually to make them accessible and that works for me.

  • In my country blue is conservatives... But I agree with the sentiment! It worked for California, it can work for your whole country, let the Dems stop fearing they'll lose elections, give them comfortable margins and then massively support progressives who can bring in the good stuff, they won't have a chance if the party core thinks the very future of elections is on the line, but if they think they'll likely win anyway, you might just be able to push through a progressive candidate and end the Neoliberal decay.

  • I'm similar but will all carbs - only proteins make me feel full, unless there's meat involved I generally don't consider it a meal. Carbs and veggies do not make me full at all and I never crave them, they're only there to give me variety and make me feel civilized while I consume meat. I never really crave sugar either.

P.S. I'm not one of those "meat-only diet" whackjobs and I have nothing against vegetarians or vegans or animals but this has just been my experience entirely.

  • The same way they justify cutting benefits for the disabled to balance budgets instead of putting taxes on the rich or just not giving them bailouts, they will justify cutting power to you before a data centre that's 10 corporate AIs all fighting each other, unless we as a people stand up and actually demand change.

  • You can just download the episodes though? Like right in Jellyfin:

Because yes, you can just copy files from your NAS to your phone's internal storage (assuming you don't care about transcoding and the like)... at which point there isn't much use to a metadata oriented media server/service.

No you do not need to do any of that.

Or you can just set up Plex to always download the next 10 episodes of whatever show you are watching when it has network access. I mean... that probably won't work (see: 40%) but when it does, it is awesome. Which is the "it just works" functionality.

You can download in Jellyfin also, like in the screenshot above.

anyone asking for anything else is wrong and stupid.

I mean, you are asking for things that are already in the app, you tell me if that's stupid or not. I'm just trying to help.

I'd never call anyone even trying to use these self-hosted alternatives stupid.

Jellyfin devs could actually get the "download the next N episodes" functionality to reliably work (even at 80-90%) it would be a killer app

Is there some reason you can't do this manually? I actually can't think of any app with this feature, not even Netflix way back not Spotify.

  • A VPN Server on the server or home network (look into PiVPN for instance), and a VPN Client on clients (look at openvpn for instance).

Good luck and let me know if you have any further questions - I'm more than happy to answer!
