+1 for the onlookers. I have watched plenty of arguments myself, just trying to build an opinion. Humans work like that.

Not much better, I'd bet. The death penalty does not stop murders from happening. Sure, there might be slightly less, but it would not scare people off the crime, just off getting caught.

I don't doubt the stories, but a court would see it in a different way for a good reason. It's hard to find a solution between slander and rightfully calling someone out.

I can recommend looking into "science days" and stuff like that. It makes you a lot more hopeful for the future to see a lot of curious, open-minded 12-year olds.

Actually, I was loosely considering applying there, this made sure I won't. That stuff needs to be made more public, so that their reputation noticeably suffers. Only then will people care to enact change.

The people are clearly misguided, we need to roll over them with tanks to prove we are the true proletariat. A lot of governments built monuments to Nazi collaborteurs. That doesn't mean jack shit. Hitler was vegetarian and against animal abuse.

The people behind the current events aren't conservative. They don't try to conserve. They try to destroy, uproot, and drag us back. They are reactionaries, everything-was-better-in-the-50s daydreamers, and neoliberal oligarchs. They do not care about conserving moral values, otherwise they wouldn't have voted a criminal into office. Conservative is a word they are hiding behind, like a marketing slogan. Like how fascists figured out that calling themselves patriots makes them acceptable.

I do not think that conservative = bad. In fact, I myself believe that with many issues, it might be better to wait for the dust to settle a bit, and to not jump on every hype train. I would even go as far as saying I am a patriot, if that word wasn't dragged through the mud by mouth-breathing, racist neo-fascists.

As a straight man who absolutely doesn't want kids, I understand you. But raising a kid is a fuckton of work, and parents deserve a chance to do it right, so I'm not jealous. After all, my decision to not have children will probably save me loads of money. A tax cut here and there is just fair, if you ask me.

Large scale civil disobedience often worked quite well, too. But it has to be large-scale, so it cannot be player oft as "those selfish few need to be punished".

Sadly, that only happens in extreme circumstances. Think end of WW1 Germany, where a large part of the soldiers and workers decided that enough is enough.

Central Europe here, i have never seen someone question taking paternity leave. Sure, especially the managers might complain behind their backs about workload or scheduling, but nobody questioned the decision.
