  • Yeah I never understood the hate but today I did read a comment saying Canonical (the company that develops Ubuntu) had injected some amazon telemetry into one of the search functionalities, that and using Snap is what makes some people shit on it. I didn't verify the telemetry thing FYI.

I can definitely understand people being upset at telemetry injections.

The above is to say I don't think it's exclusively people gate keeping, dome people have legitimate issues with it.I haven't seen people shit on mint a lot and it's an easy distro. Honestly most people are super supportive of mint. That being said there is definitely some amount of gatekeeping.

  • It's not right wing narrative. After I watched the debate I was pissed and felt like the Biden administration had hid the fact that Biden isn't in a condition to be president because that's what happened.

Trump didn't have any coherent answers but you could at least hear him

  • The system is really bad but you should also factor in the price while searching for schools, I went to a state University, one of the minor ones, and tuition was under 10k/year. So your son paid more for 1 year than I did for my entire degree by almost a factor of 2. Some universities are way more expensive than others. I got a STEM degree and was employed 2 months after I graduated, with a very prestigious research position. So it's not like going to a shitter on paper school had an impact on me personally.

  • It was and they won! Now with Trump in office no more Palestinians will suffer! The humanitarian crisis is over, god-emperor himself said he wants Israel to "finish what they started". He must mean that war needs to end, what other interpretation could possibly be accurate? I thank Jesus personally every night for helping the man win who wants to jack inflation right back up after it's finally started taming. Our economy is in the right hands!

  • Keppa is a bit better imo. A lot of price history goes back pre covid (not like it matters I just find it interesting to see), camelcamelcamel doesn't. IIRC had something to do with Amazon making them

  • Or maybe you didn't read:

not one post about the 759 Americans who died of #COVID19 in the last week of full data from the CDC

759x52= 39,468/ year which is around the flu but higher, makes sense since covid is newer. That's also assuming that the week in question is not an anomaly, which we don't know.

My argument is significantly stronger than your data handling

  • With the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19), flu activity during 2021-2022 was lower than observed before the pandemic. Compared with flu seasons prior to pandemic, the 2021–2022 flu season was mild and occurred in two waves, with a higher number of hospitalizations in the second wave.

You picked a year where covid protocol statistically skewed the data lower than normal

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu-burden/php/data-vis/2021-2022.html

Normal per year is typically around 20k deaths, but can go up to 50k

  • I mean it's here to stay, what is there to care about? It's the same as the flu or strep throat or the cold, you can get vaccines if they're available, you can wear a mask in public if you want to protect yourself more but it's just a fact of life now.

Those 800 people that died of covid probably pails in comparison to the number of people killed by the flu.

  • I do partially agree with your sentiment but the biggest issue is the Democratic party itself.

In my mind if they hadn't ham fisted Hilary in '16 none of this would have happened in the first place and that's only the tip of the iceberg of that parties failings.

  • Attention everyone there was a major US election that took place 2 days ago resulting in Trump winning

If you get on social media for the next month (probably more) you are going to see politics unless you filter it out or get off social media
