Legalizing Marijuana was Harris's October surprise. If that's their idea of a winning bullet for this fucked up nation that's pretty sad.

In a fair world he would get punched in the jaw every time he said something anti-human and without a shred of kindness while trying to speak on behalf of others, especially after he helped cause an outbreak in Samoa that killed nearly 100 people.

I think we just have a surprising amount of political staffers in Lemmy. The bulk does seem to be wealthy people living in suburbs. Look at how the biggest groups are people self hosting thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment.

I just want to point out that the attempt to compare medical costs in a direct comparison in US dollars isn't exactly easy as it does ignore purchasing power and base wages.

The point would probably be better made with hours of labor at a base pay to pay off treatment which I do think American healthcare would probably still lose quite handedly.

Yeah as an American that lives in a rural area, I started working at the age of 8 doing small jobs like penny saver delivery to help pay for groceries since my mom was wasting child support on booze and drugs.
By 14 I was an assistant chef at a restaurant because I started as a dishwasher the year before and the other chefs quit or had a heart attack (miss you Bob). And I worked until 1am basically doing clean up and still had to go to school.

If no one around you is caring about the rules and life of others, big federal/state rules are easily ignored, even in America.

I will say I don't get quite the logic of being like:

"Yeah this countries spyware is bad so I'm running straight into the arms of this other countries spyware just to stick it to you original spyware!"

Instead of just, like, getting off the spyware.

It's like being robbed and pulling out a gun to shoot yourself before the robber can and throwing your wallet into a street.
Sure it spites the robber but they can just shrug and move on to a weirdo who isn't shooting themselves and they will probably just loot your pockets for spare change anyways.

Yeah I would put this in comparison with the OG 3DS however the main changes seem like they may be in the joycon redesign instead of the screen. The game carts will all be basically identical and potentially still swappable between consoles depending on the game. And the added functionality will probably be unfelt by a lot of people who won't bother with it.

They are working on making the quirk of the system better and giving it an engine tuneup.

They still go long periods of time with practically no "innovation" as that's not their point but making a fun toy is.

When they have a successful and well selling portable console they slow down on the innovation and go full into embrace the ecosystem as long as possible with minor improvements and if we use the DS as an indicator we have a decade of this.

It was a post about how Google had been asked to take down links to websites selling black market hormonal transition drugs and I suggested that no one should be buy them from shady sources like that in the first place as those compounds are important enough to not just buy whatever you can find as a personal attempt to fix body dysphoria.

Oh my God I once saw a black bear get stressed out after wandering into the neighborhood. Truly had no idea what to do about all the people other than climb and try to hide in a tree that it then got stuck in.

Eventually it was tranqued and they caught it fireman style with a tarp held underneath it as it slipped out of the tree.

I'd probably have a less cute story if it was a Polar, Grizzly or Kodiak bear though.

So a light rail train is a surface ground public transport system similar to a tram, it moves around on street level and can be quite fast but is usually plastic on the exterior and lighter and slower than a typical train.

So anyways, one time as I am walking down the sidewalk in college my hat blows right off my head, without thinking much of it I sprint off after it hoping to catch it before it ends up in the street.
I manage to catch right before I'm in the actual road, but apparently still right on the tracks for the light rail that had right of way through the intersection.

I am still bent over grabbing my hat as I look over my shoulder to see the train hitting me.
I bounced off the front of that train probably a good 10 feet, skid across the ground for the last bit but immediately jump up slap the hat back on my head and stare at the driver of the light rail just long enough for us both to realize I am still on the tracks. I don't know what they were ever going to say as I just held my hand down on my hat to stop it blowing away and sprinted as fast as I could away.

I have been hit by nearly every mode of transportation but that one always makes me giggle compared to the trains, buses, cars or boats.

Then you are not paying attention to the American school system. Qualified to? Oh most certainly not, but doing it anyway. Heck my 5 year old sister is being diagnosed with just about everything the teachers can offer to the point that there is now a discussion on what tranquilizer to prescribe her without yet talking to a doctor.

We are fucked. Let's at least call out the guy that clearly has an IQ from drug abuse to be qualified as retarded so and you can get upset at my slur of calling him a man-child instead.
