  • Racoon for lemmy

This is the 1st time I decided to check about this (I have heard that name before here), after a 1st glance it looks a lot like Boost for Lemmy, and since Boost seems to be the best working client for me at this moment (image and posts load for example is way faster than Summit, Voyager and Eternity), in terms of speed Sync for Lemmy is faster, but it is so broken with my current instance that is not worth to use it anymore.

I might install Raccoon soonish :)

  • Yeah, I'd be concerned about that too... I mean who is not in for a Switch replacement/successor?

  • Cable TV? Yeah, I once in a while hop in for some free IPTV and deal with what comes with it (mostly use Pluto TV BTW) that is mostly for background noise of course, for TV Shows, Anime and Movies I use my own means 🏴‍☠️

I refuse to end up watching YouTube and reels exclusively lol.

  • Still? Is it powerful enough to run the latest games without tweaking?

Not criticizing, I genuinely want one, but tech advances quickly and it seems everyone is jumping to the PC handheld market (and I am glad for it).

  • 10, I probably could have more, but some are auto updated with Droidify and sometimes their inbuilt updater, tbh it is kinda a stressing factor to me knowing that I could have more apps there but I maybe don't know lol.

  • I definitely noticed it and that is why I got back to it as my main app for a while... But hell MIUI is not kind with it, it kills it so quickly and the app takes its time in re-opening :/

I did all the good practices to avoid the app being killed by MIUI, but no dice.

  • I remember when Nintendo took the same approach with The Legend Zelda Tri Force Heroes game... I don't think it worked out that great...

  • For seeding? Out of luck as I don't have a VPS currently, I used one to open my ports with some hacky ways using Wireguard and IPtables stuff, if there is a better way I would like to know lol.

Now I just constantly seed in hopes that people with the ports opened can access my stuff.

For accessing my files, Zerotier and Tailscale have been a godsend.

I also happen to have IPv6 support and I can access some exposed services through it without too much hassle, Plex and Bitwarden are two big examples.

  • Sadly the country has a lot of other shit to worry about, I don't expect that to change in the short or long time lol.

  • Are you pirating shit? Yes? Use a VPN.

I pirate and seed shit from Mexico no issues without VPN... My only headache is CGNAT.

  • Okay? But what does Whatsapp has anything to do with the other? DM?

I don't consider WhatsApp social media.

  • However the notorious charging port ribbon cable seems to have broken again and this might be some of the last things I write with the phone :(

Yeah, that is one annoying issue for sure.

It happened to mine as well, what I did year (years?) ago, was to use a tiny piece of electric tape in the flex to make pressure and make it to recognize the charger as well...

    Still working fine after that.

If your device stops recognizing data I think it is game over though.

  • Just confirmed random button is not working in Sync for Reddit what a shame, but well, what did I expect about Reddit.

  • It does with Sync for a Lemmy, sadly the app is busted with most instances I guess.

  • My daily driver is a Poco F2 Pro which has the jack port.

My car is old and I still wire it to the speakers for using Spotify and such, my gf has to use the adapter thingy for her iPhone and she can't charge and play music at the same time, I can do that without an issue.

Too bad companies keep getting rid of ports.

  • I don't even know in which version is my instance (Lemm.ee) I'd like that mobile clients showed up this value more easily (maybe they do but I am dumb, I use Summit, Voyager, Boost and the defunct Sync).

  • I do not know if that is better or worse, but that is something definitely.

  • At least they aren't packaged each with the plastic wrap.

  • Lots of options already shared it so I am just gonna say that I find easier to play older games that I have already played/beaten.

    Personal examples:

Super Mario 64 and Toy Story 2.

The huge benefit of older games is that they are just quick and play, no updates no DLCs just fire it up and play, if emulated you even got save states and all those thingys.

This is a dangerous thing to me though, as it discourages me to try out new games, yeah, but after a tiring day I find myself more comfortable getting into these kinds of games than other options.

Funny that you mentioned Vampire Survivors as I was planning to get it for Android haha.
