It's terminally online cringe garbage. How any self respecting communist can repost stuff like this or take it seriously in any way at all is beyond me.

There's a clear difference between analyzing the reasons for this war, the benefits a Russian victory might have and the terror a Russian defeat would bring and whatever abomination this bs is and the reddit brain needed to celebrate this or "z post".

People have to take "integration-courses" here, where they're taught about le western values and how not to be a raping savage. Learning the language is mandatory too (cultural genocide much). Not saying language courses, familiarity with local law and customs isn't useful or even necessary. Just if this happened in China or other 'badcountry' it would be the grossest human rights violation to them.

What's crazy to me is that the liberal mainstream not only accepts the US threatening an entire group of countries for choosing to produce goods in their own national self-interest instead of hurting themselves by submitting to US demands, they actively cheer it on. While simultaneously denying such behaviour from the US could ever exist in any other respect (literally 1489).

I just can't with how fucking ridiculous this war is, especially from the Western side. There are god damn doge pictures on a Pion and Western automatons paid fucking money for this. Hundreds upon hundreds are dying everyday in this war and these wankers are having a laugh spending on whatever this shit is.

I don't get it either man. What you decribed happens again and again and again and yet there's never any learning process, it just keeps happening. In case of The Left, this is a big tent leftist party with all kinds of factions. From a majority of succdems to communists, they kinda had it all. One of their core points that was unnegotiable for them for a long time was a kind of anti-imperialist stance, specifically anti-NATO. This was unnegotiable for them till last election (2021), where they put chances of a seat in government over this anti-NATO stance. They lost that election hard and thus didn't get the seat in government they bargained for.

Now I don't follow German electoral politics close enough to say that's what lost them the election and I can't say how much of a factor this was in them losing subsequent elections. Still, the same pattern - compromise with the libs to get a chance at participation, get smacked by voters, double down. Just very very strange.

Can't speak for other European countries, but in Germany not present at all. The DKP (German Communist Party) is so small it's almost irrelevant. The Left has some communist and anti-imperialist factions, but the party at large is getting pummeled in elections atm and as it's doing so, it is moving even further to the right. Only hope is the very large (non-revolutionary) union movement. Other than that it's an unorganized mess or one that's organized/coopted by the right. Mainstream politicians already going ahead preemptively labeling protesters as far-right certainly doesn't help either.

Russian anti-communist nationalists are the strangest kind of people. They know the horrendous position Russia has been put in after the destruction of the SU, all the suffering it's caused and how it lead to the current war and its horrors. But then they just turn around and blame it on communism? Extremely strange how the anti-communist indoctrination is so bad there even the nationalists don't take pride in the extraordinary achievements of the SU, but rather regurgitate what Western robber barons - the very people who've done their best to destroy and humiliate their country - have told them about it.

Not sure what to think about him either. I've watched a couple of his videos at the beginning of the war, a livestream or two with the Deprogram guys and see comrades recommend him quite often, so I thought he was pretty decent. But this video combined with the China takes really brought out the Maoist leanings of his and...yeah, controversial at least.

But imo MLs online really haven't bothered wrestling with this conflict on a theoretical basis too much. I've seen almost no deeper analysis and even the big Youtubers like Hakim have hardly touched on it. Day to day analysis of the events and consequences is almost non-existent too, so I reckon some controversial takes about it ain't too bad to discuss about honestly.

As a German this is an incredibly tough one. The pain, anger and disappointment of these people is palpable. What the Yanks and their dogs did and continue to do to the people in Afghanistan just gives me a viceral reaction like nothing else. As sad as it is to say, it isn't any worse than what they did to Iraqis, Yemenis, Libyans, Syrians, Vietnamese, etc, but it still pisses me off more because of the absolute nonchalance with which libs shrug it off. Also not super important or well known, but what they did to Victor Jara always gets me too. Guy was a teacher, socialist and a fairly well known musician, so ofc Pinochet had him tortured and murdered. Because he was a guitarist, they smashed his hands and fingers and asked him to play the guitar. Mad lad instead sang the protest song Venceremos before they offed him. The defiance in the face of cruelty like this is just heartbreaking.

They aren't shit, but reading them as an adult is just kinda disappointing because the world building is just so terribly superficial in many regards. Last time I listened to the audiobooks some years ago I could still easily enjoy them and I could still see all the parts I loved as a child and what made the universe lovable to me and many others then. It's not even that she doesn't bring up deeper issues thematically or within the world building, she just never really expands on them as much as she could and should. No idea if it's because of her personal politics, but she always stops exploring things right when they're getting really interesting.

Idk, maybe it's mostly nostalgia, because I don't engage with Rowling in any way at all and I know I'm in the minority on this, but I'm not on the hate train yet lol
