I don't think it's about intelligence. I knew All Star before Shrek came out, but I still think about Shrek when I hear it because I just watched that movie a lot as a kid and built up that association. Does that make me stupid?
Yeah I think Bottas would probably be the best option. We already know it would be only a one, maybe two year contract so getting someone who already knows the team is the easiest route.
F1 is a team sport. You can never penalize only the team or only the driver. By your logic, not the team should be penalized, but the engineer who made the mistake.
I was really worried last year Max might break this record. To me, it's the last great Schumacher record that still stands. Glad I don't have to worry for too long this year.
but how didn't they see the overheating in the telemetry? I watched Max' onboard from start to retirement and there was nothing on the team radio until Max mentioned the smoke. Heck, there was even a significant time when everyone could see the smoke on tv, yet nobody got the idea of telling Max?
drivers don't usually look at the area immediately around the car. When not in a fight with another car they tend to look into the next corner or, if they are in a corner, into corner exit. If they are fighting another car they tend to look at that car, not at their own. They can't even see their own front wing period, no matter if the wheels are in the way or not.
Tbh Max seems a bit bored. I think he craves a challenge and Mercedes might just be that challenge. Iirc he did even hint at leaving F1 altogether a year or two ago.
