  • My dad asked if I was gonna get him out of assisted living/memory care in Atlanta and I was in Denver on a business matter. He was very upset when I told him I wasn't going to buy a flight overnight to get him out. It got very tense and angry.

    He died 11 days later from a heart attack. Our last discussion ended on screams. A lifetime of alcohol, smoking, and finally dementia, killed him.

    I don't know if I can ever get over our last talk being so angry. There was love but also abuse throughout our relationship.
