He did. A notable update for Notepad++ compulsory had a support message for Charlie Hebdo. Its his right to do so, and he's not wrong.

But my understanding is WB owns the rights and Atari couldn't afford to get the rights (they still hold the publish rights from the Infogrames days, hence why we got a re-release).
