  • I am sad that I even bothered to check the hell happened. I hate the culture war. As long as people don’t bother me, why the hell would I care what they do. It’s all a crappy excuse to not notice the actual issues that afflict society

  • Elementary OS might be what you are looking for. It has their own DE (pantheon) that I think was one of the first to implement 1:1 gesture navigation. It still uses X if I’m not mistaken so you are probably going to be able to use the backlight correctly.

  • That is why I hope that people start unionising more and start switching jobs more regularly. The increased turnover should mean that companies try to retain employees for the sake of projects not being constantly delayed. I also hope that this also leads to more people starting their own businesses and competing with their former employers both in employing terms (by having better work conditions) and eventually consumer loyalty.

  • Fun fact, the store where I bought my GPU, when I had to make a warranty claim, called me from an “unknown number” to warn me the replacement one was in the store (they did warn me they would do it, but it was still weird, otherwise good performance regarding the claim)

  • The reason I chose these events are very simple. They are glaringly clear events that show without a doubt the intent of killing civilians. First, the hostage situation clearly shows that they do not recognise surrender, even if they wanted.

Second, in a way akin to the United Nations, the Catholic Church is a relatively powerful institution independent from the conflicting parties that was unlikely to harbour weapons inside (even if more likely than UN facilities). However, unlike the indiscriminate UN bombings, the killing was done during the day inside the church by a sniper, again, making it glaringly clear.

Finally, at this point, most people inside churches aren’t even Christian, as most of the Christian population fled a while ago, and the people that remain are actually following the bible and harbouring those that need it.
