  • You have 4 basic options for funding:

-you rely on individual donations which doesn’t bring in enough money

-you force people to pay for it, which makes it less attractive when compared to traditional software, and makes much of the community pissy

    -you rely on corporate money

    -you rely on government money

None is perfect, but some amount of government funding (let’s say, 10% of what they would pay Microsoft for the equivalent software) might make sense

  • Honestly the whole lawsuit sounds kind of ridiculous to me. Isn't it up to the lender to audit the property of the one who asks for money to assure that they are able to pay it? After all, the one asking for money may (out of ignorance, or malice) overvalue their property, and they may be right, should there be someone who actually is willing to buy it for that price. The confidential documents lawsuit sounds to me like a waaaay easier and clearer win. (if only the democrats hadn't decided to "forget" about it after similar claims were found regarding Biden)

  • I mean, doesn’t matter. We pinpoint russia and then what. Sure, we can retaliate and block their comma, and radio communication doesn’t work for both of us. We can always invade, but a load of political capital is needed, and the west doesn’t exactly have the most ammo ever right now.

Finally, I think the true source is this

  • They’re doing it with chrome users if I’m not mistaken, making popups to use Bing. There was even an apology as the popups were supposed to only be shown once instead of constantly if I’m not mistaken
