  • Companies don't get jail time.

Sure, technically an individual could, but generally the actual destruction is an employee doing what they're told to do. They're somewhat complicit but the real problem is the c-suite people.

I unfortunately don't know when this last happened or any specific details on what the penalty would be, but I feel fairly confident that this law falls under the "cost of doing business" part of illegal corporate activity. I wish it didn't.

  • Nah it's illegal to deliberately destroy data to impede investigations. You don't need to have an open investigation for that to be the case.

It remains legal to get rid of old files to free up space or if you genuinely believe they aren't necessary, though, so you need to prove intent.

If there's a subpeona or something, their destruction is itself a crime, but under this law, its the intent to defraud the courts that's illegal, and that intent is always illegal.

The law exists specifically for this situation. Purging important business documents preemptively is clearly not OK.

  • Clearly the gravity capacitors are aligned in such a way that in the case of gravity failure, the outer gravitronic shell fails first, causing the neutronium to evacuate safely in the direction of anyone else, while the inner shell maintains for a second or so longer, preventing an implosion.

That, and transporter shenanigans. They just beam up the neutronium before shutdown.

  • Well thats what the artificial gravity is for.

They also use it for walking and whatnot, of course, but that's an add-on. The real purpose is so they can siphon off some neutron star stuff and hold it between them and an enemy without it exploding.

  • Area would help account for a really large yard, where you may want more eggs, or for a small one, where this calculation simply has too many eggs. So, egg density per square foot (or whatever unit they wanted).

Undergrowth size to me seems like its accounting for how many eggs simply aren't found. If the grass is 6" long, you'll want more eggs because they'll not all be found.

This seems to fit especially because they're added together, which means even a yard that was just dirt, no undergrowth, you'd get eggs from area alone. There's a floor on it. If it were a separate multiple then no grass would mean no eggs.

  • Yellows and browns and orange are a lot more related, and whatever color the pre-orange tiger ancestor was, it was almost certainly one of those.

Natural variation in the coat means some of those tigers were more orange than their peers. This trait was selected for.

  • It's possible to not realize you're complicit or not realize the depth of it.

When this happens like it did, you do briefly become someone who is getting blood money. She took this chance to interfere with their event.

  • While you're right, first I wanna say, "unskilled labor" tends to be cashiers, stocking, waiting on tables, that sort of thing. Any job where you're an apprentice for any length of time, thats skilled labor.

"skilled labor" vs "unskilled labor would be named best as "credentialed labor" and "on-the-job training labor" in my opinion. There might be a better word, but the meaning of those is more accurate.

I was great at my call center job, I had skills that got me promotions, but many those skills could've only been taught at that job, and they only applied at that job. It's not that that job didn't have skills, it's that you couldn't arrive with all the skills you'd need to succeed.

This is also true of "skilled" labor, but to a much lesser degree.

  • Well hey if the trumps became a dynasty, the US becomes a de facto Russian colony.

I bet he's cool with that.

Then we would actually become second place in his eyes instead of a nation with a bullet hole on his map.

Even writing this makes me wanna gag, this is a horrid little hypothetical I've thought of. Someone, somewhere, is hoping this will occur, though.
