  • No. The fix is to correct the issue of investors.

Punishing housing taxes of 50% of the value of the house per year for every house per family beyond the first.
Ban ownership of housing by companies and all non-permanent residents.

  • You mean Harper and Poilievre. They're the ones who put the lives of millions of Canadians at risk so their developer buddies could benefit.

Also the time they literally siphoned off the G20 meeting's security budget for personal pet projects.

  • It is an illusion of choice though.

Even in the article it says that they're being warned there "may not be shelter space" this winter. Given NYC winters, that's a threat.

It is the same illusion of choice the conservative prairie provinces use on homeless to toss them over to BC. Free bus pass, or we revoke / prevent shelters from housing you.

  • Understand that I'm absolutely on the side of WFH and I fully understand the benefits of it.

But to describe the loss of WFO knowledge as sporadic is just Trumpian levels of lying.

Edit: it would be nice to find a way to regain that which was lost without dropping WFH, since losing WFH isn't a thing.

  • There is absolutely stuff lost in pure WFH.

People of all ages and roles don't ask the actually important "lack of knowledge" anymore in important meetings, IMO due to a fear of it being recorded and used against them.

Not to mention the ease of turning around and explaining something to someone, or overhearing a discussion and adding an expert opinion.

That said, WFH is absolutely the best way forward. We just need to determine how to regain the in-person off the cuff stuff lost in WFH.

  • Morrowind was utterly amazing and set up bars that are still being look at two decades later.

For starters, only the Rimworld engine gets close to how moddable the creation engine is. It truly is a masterpiece of design.

Then, as cheesy as it is, for an Open world sandbox RPG with a quest line.

But they've been riding that gravy train for 20 years too, and all they really did was jam in graphical improvements, add increasingly barebones action elements(sword/gunplay) and rip out RPG elements.

  • So I played around some more. If I used the term "woman" I had to add that they were clothed or add the clothing they were wearing, for one of them I had to add fully clothed and specify "a full suit".

I went back over the one time it worked previously and they were nude, it only passed because it put the scene in silhouette, and that apparently enabled it to get passed the sensors.

But it had absolutely no issue reproducing Iron Man and Ultron in a two word prompt and the absolute scariest is that it can make reproductions of big celebrities.

  • There's one I saw yesterday where the prompt was a Bugatti and some other supercar in a steampunk style.

The AI just threw back a silver and gold Arkham series Batmobile.

Edit: Because it's fun, I tested Bing's image generator. They auto block on the word Disney, (e.g. a mouse in the style of Walt Disney)
But they allow "a mouse in the style of Steamboat Willie."

Also I think Dall-e is being used to make prodigious amounts of porn. Pretty much anything I tried with the word "woman" gets content blocked in Bing. "Woman eating fried chicken" is blocked. Not blocked for "Man eating fried chicken."
