  • Facebook is literally arguing to the US federal government that regulations about social media usage by children, and the data they sell from it, aren't their problem but are the responsibility of Google and Apple.

    Why do you trust them?

  • Yup. But they would logically have bots up to troll for new posts and would be consuming social media posts with their own generated data.

Also they would absolutely feed in successful posts back into the system. You'd be stupid to not refine successful generations to further help the model.

  • The issue is also present in DallE and bing image generation. Hypothesis is the sheer amount of porn being generated is affecting the models.

When I tried to create a joke profile for Tinder with some friends, I tried "woman eating fried chicken". Blocked result. "Man eating fried chicken" works.
Tried "Man T posing on beach" clothed. Woman T posing on beach, blocked.
Woman t posing at sunset on beach, returned nearly silhouetted nude image. Same thing for guy, clothed.

Went back to the first one, had to specify that the woman was wearing clothes to make it return the image. Sometimes specifying specific articles.

  • It just has to get through the Supreme Court, not overturning a fundamental building block of the entire US justice system. Or more likely, stating that the reward "was too much."

And 3 of them seem to be on his side hell or high water; with a fourth being apparently really quite cheap to buy the loyalty of.

  • Her business move to re-record her old album supposedly had the music industry looking into amending all of their contracts. A lot of living older artists could do it and free their art from the claws of MBA grads.

  • They call, gunman sees caller ID, freaks out, shoots everyone.

If they don't, gunman lies. They send a cop over. Cop get shot, gunman freaks shoots everyone.

I think the more pressing issues are:

    1. Demilitarize the police. Sure they can have body armor. They don't need fucking assault weapons and armored personnel carriers though.
    2. Criminalize swatting. We already know that since the Dubya era that federal US has had their hands on all communication in the US. Find out who the swatter is and prosecute the twatwaffle
  • Yes, that doesn't change my point. In both cases it looks like the ecosystem had multiple niches that in the fossil record previously having different species apparently all filled with a single species. With Trex, one of the current theories is that it filled different niches as it grew up.

Although with Trex, there may have been a half sized version that was hunting alongside the big one(s).

  • Okay, so their approach to disenfranchised voters:

    1. No actual voting change.
    2. No voting reform.
    3. No enforcement of existing laws forcing companies to give people 8 hours to vote.
    4. We'll give them more days they can vote on! Sure that's the problem.

    Eat the rich.

  • Layman here, but as I recall there is a more recent theory that the evolution of flowering plants (130ish MYA) played a role in the decreasing diversity of the huge dinosaurs.

The usual evidence used for that is that the Triceratops like species seem to end up with just the one, and Trex appeared to be the only large predator in its ecosystems.

Although I understand there is new evidence suggesting that the North American Trex specimens found might be at least three different subspecies.
