  • This kind of toxic behavior is always at least a little mystifying to me, but honestly, given the video in question, I'm extra flummoxed. It's such a short nothing burger of a video. And it's a guy liking girls. Like....WTH?

This kind of toxic behavior is never really "acceptable" but that aside, with all the rage bate tier content available on any given platform, people chose this as the target of their ire and harassment?

  • Follow tags for subjects you like and peak at the global/federated feed now and then.

  • My mind went the same direction as you at first, now I'm wondering if OP is saying that they try to suggest Mastodon as a better place to friends, because they are complaining.

  • The joke may have merit, all generations have their lingo but it does seem to have gotten extra meme-ish as of late, but the labels are all wrong. Millennials are the old ones, the meme language speaker should be labeled as Z (which came after millennials) or Alpha (came after Z, born 2010-2025.)

  • On average day-to-day surfing, yes, totally agreed, but at the same time have you seen the Flashgitz crusade videos? Because, IMO, they're pretty hilarious and I kind of want them to keep going.

  • In my experience, that's being a bit generous.

  • There will always be pirates, for some the act itself is a kind of hobby and part of their identity, but I think we can see in the reaction to some current and past, pre-inshitification, services thatt here is a legitimate point where many, if not a majority, would be happy to pay for a worthy service to support the media they enjoy and avoid some of the acquisition and self hosting hassle of pirating.

  • I honestly forgot it existed until I started reading these comments and realized the context.

  • So Google basically wants to add a feature to allow for running apps before they are fully installed? Same way you can play WoW after a minimum amount of the game has been downloaded, but before it's entirely done. Definitely feels like overkill for the majority of apps I use.

  • I think the meme would be improved if it went angel>devil instead of devil>angel, feels like a more logical progression.

  • Oh man, I remember this, I got decently high. Good times.

  • Yeah, the chance employers naturally just start paying the same # of people the same amount of money, for 2 days less work, which feels like the implication in this post, is functionally 0.

  • You talk about Deezer dropping features but then the ones you list are super basic things Deezer still does, so I think you need to go into a bit more detail regarding what you want out of this.

  • You should have some experience with a successful search on the topic before you try to pull the LMGTFY card. Looks dumb when it doesn't work.

  • I read it as being a matter of phrasing. Which will make rewording potentially difficult. But for instance, you use the phrase "Christian Nationalism" to cover an umbrella of policies you see as related, I think OP is saying that your average republican doesn't identify their policies and opinions as being part of the Christian nationalism umbrella. Since they don't make that association, they don't, maybe even don't know how to, engage under that umbrella.

  • Maintenance is a thing but it's also not "that" frequent, distributed over the course of multiple years, where something of note probably only occurs during 1 or 2, you save. There are totally scenarios where renting makes sense and there can be financial barriers to entry on onwership, but as a long term gambit, if you can afford it, owning wins.
