  • Holy fuck that could literally be anywhere. My brain had a spasm trying to decide which city I remember that exact view from, and of course none of those were in Breezewood, Pennsylvania lol.

  • Hell yeah. I live near a waffle house, and the jukebox is my favorite part. Last time I went my friends and I were also the only ones there, it was super fun. The staff were super chill. A great vibe imho.

  • My dog used to always seek out the most disgusting water she could find. I'm pretty sure it made her sick a couple times. She wasn't all that bright in general, I'm afraid. She used to love jumping in the air to catch flying bugs, baby birds, and the like. Two or three times she caught a wasp and got stung inside her mouth.

She was a really sweet, loving dog though. Rest in Peace, Nora. <3

  • I'm somewhat lost on this issue. I feel embarrassingly ignorant about stuff like wars and defense budgets and NATO, etc. Maybe it's bc I'm young and probably didn't pay enough attention to history class in high school, but all this to say, if anybody knows of any good learning materials I'd be really grateful! Especially anything ELI5-style, geared toward people like me who have a hard time wrapping our heads around it.

One thing I'm curious about is just, basically what shalafi asked above. Is it true that the US spends a whole lot more on their military than other NATO allies; and if so, why is that? I understand there might not be a simple answer to a question like that, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

  • I just don't understand this. I mean, imagine being a fucking billionaire and under this much heat, and not choosing to pay for the best lawyers money can buy. I know the guy isn't smart, but seriously, is he really that stupid?? Am I missing something?

  • Idk much about genetic engineering and whatnot, but I'm definitely wary of the day people are really able to apply it to humans. Maybe I'm just catastrophasizing, I haven't studied this stuff at all, it just seems like it'd be a big deal. Kinda like how Darwinism and evolution had effects on the social/political climate.

Hopefully it isn't/won't be a big deal in a negative way. It's one of those things I should totally learn more about so it's less scary, I just haven't gotten to it yet. Sorry for the rant lol.

E: Come to think of it, it probably doesn't help that most of the "reading" I've done on the subject is from comic books, lmao. And the new(ish) Guardians of the Galaxy movie. No wonder the topic feels spooky.
