It doesn't even have to be to that extent, just being able to slow/stop that awful content from being uploaded by a bunch of malicious bots. Even if it's not malicious content, you could still have people uploading spam that eats up the server space.
Yep, there needs to be moderation tools that can be quickly deployed to stop the illegal/immoral/evil stuff from spreading and taking over self-hosted servers.
But it's not "the media" it's the heavily editorialized media. There are plenty of credible sources who remain neutral who don't deserve to be lumped in with the rest.
I know this is just a meme, but free speech has never been completely unrestricted. If I say (hypothetically of course) "I'm making specific plans to harm lots of innocent people for political purposes" I've just opened myself up to lawsuits and immediate arrest.
There are carrier based services that do fuck all for spam calls, what you really need to get rid of them is Google Assistant call screening. Yes, Google is a giant evil corporation with anti-competitive monopolies and "AI" that will lead to the eventual destruction of the Internet we know and love, but their call screener is top notch. It answers the call and the spammers have to talk to a robot to get through to you. That's cut down my spam call volume dramatically. And if it flags someone accidentally they just say who they are and I can decide to answer.
Biden and Harris are not it if you want to push Democrats and the country left. They aren't as far right as Trump and his buddies, but the are left of center but pretty classic Democrats. Bernie was the guy to push things left, but the Democrats rejected him. Without a good progressive candidate in place to challenge in the primary, we won't see that push left. This election it's Harris as the best bet for keeping Republicans from doing serious long term damage to this country.
