I feel like sit down restaurants and fast food have gone way up. Maybe not double but it feels like it. Rent is also way up. Again not double but it seems that way. Maybe that's just my area in South Florida though.
But yeah if you own your own home and cook all of your meals at home, really this inflation hasn't hit you as hard.

I think it would be fine for them to compete provided we can ensure a level playing field. I don't know what that would entail, but studies should be done to get it figured out. Is it a blood draw for testosterone levels (maybe not.. sometimes that's naturally high for either cis gender)? Maybe estrogen? Maybe it's number of years post transition, though I see difficulty defining the start.
Definitely a tough issue since if we get it wrong and be too accepting or not accepting enough, many athletes will suffer. I would love to hear some more ideas and thoughts on this. I'm tired of getting shot down trying to talk to this guy.
I think the best example is for women. Imagine they can figure out, with 95% accuracy or something, that you are pregnant, that could be valuable data.
Now imagine you are a woman at a large corporation who just got pregnant, but aren't telling anyone yet. Too early. Your corporation buys a batch of data and discovers there is a 95% chance you are pregnant. They don't want to pay for maternity leave or make reasonable accomodations during pregnancy or pumping breast milk. They fire you for "unrelated reasons", before you ever tell them you are pregnant.
Nothing illegal happened there really. You never told them so you have no way to prove they fired you for that.
It's closely linked to the Christian culture. I think in Revelation or something Israel was the good guys during Armageddon, and the US wants to always be aligned with them for that reason. Whatever Israel does is "the good guys". More nonsense from religion, yay.
Good insurance! Our child born this year the hospital bill looks like around $8k after insurance, but we keep getting other bills from the provider's offices so it's hard to say exactly. Fortunately my wife has a secondary insurance of some sort we can submit the $8k to get that knocked down to hopefully $4k. If it works. It's been months trying to get it sorted.
No I think it's the opposite. They expect people to get pregnant and have kids (though with abortion and birth control that is happening less- hence targeting those recently). This is designed to make sure they stay poor so that the wage slave class stays well populated.
Health insurance still leaves you with a large bill. Expect like $10k for the hospital part for a lot of insurances. Don't forget the obgyn visits throughout the pregnancy (probably only $25-$75 per visit, depending on if you need a specialist). Labs are extra. In fact, the one that really tells a lot of info (lots of recessive gene issues can be found with it) is like a $750 lab that insurance doesn't usually pay for ("it's too new, and not required").
That's a lot of people not on the payroll anymore. No health insurance costs, no vacations. Just using the software.
Think of a lot of analytics jobs that ai can replace. You ever spend a day or two making a spreadsheet do whatever you need it to? That's probably a lot of people's jobs. AI can make those people more efficient (as long as a human checks it later), so companies can fire most of the team. That's a lot more people off the payroll.
And there are companies working on general ai. That will replace.... So many jobs.
I think the poster above is referring to one that does it automatically. I don't remember what I used but I had all four letters filenames after pulling my mp3's from an iPod after my computer crashed. Found a program that basically interpreted the actual song rather than relying on metadata and it fixed all those files for me.
Oh I'm sure they have a corrupt MD in their chain somewhere. I had a classmate in pharmacy school who was a lawyer and had no intention of being a regular pharmacist (retail or hospital). He just needed a PharmD to go with his JD to get a specific job in the insurance industry.
He told me it was to help keep them abreast of law changes but I'm sure they pressure him to provide a cheap yet legal solution. Probably have a JD/MD doing the same for medical procedures.
Pharmacist here. I can't really agree with that take. We have shared liability, in large part because the doctor is super good at diagnosis, and relatively good at what to prescribe for it, and a pharmacist is not good at all at diagnosis, but is trained specifically on medications and interactions.
A doctor should not be prescribing something harmful for you, but it happens, and the pharmacist catches it and calls and gets it straightened out. That's a normal situation, but opioids are a bit different.
The doctors were overprescibing, but we always were allowed to refuse prescriptions. If it was questionable, we can always call and document our conversation with the doctor. I've never heard of a pharmacist getting in trouble if they actually called and verified the MD did truly want that much medication, after being specifically warned of the risks.
If the pharmacists did that call for all of these, then I'm with you it's the doctors' fault. But if they just took in the prescriptions and filled them without checking for safe use, they failed to do their job protecting the patient from harm.
Headlines says Amish, so a phone should not be accepted. I stayed with a Mennonite before and she said Amish are no technology, then I think there was Old Order, which accepted technology up to like the Model T cars but nothing further, then Mennonites, which were essentially the same "group" (religion?) but the most advanced technologically, accepting all technology.
What work needs to be done on EVs? I think it's much less complex so as long as your battery and motors are good then the rest is just like AC and stuff right? Battery and motors would cost a lot to replace but the battery at least should last a very long time, similar to a car engine. No idea about motors.
