  • Ha. Someone once told me, "talking is the first step to inaction."

  • It takes too much time and resources. A lie runs halfway around the world before the truth laces up it's shoes.

Manipulators and liars need to be stopped by a higher authority. I'm fine with that authority being civil liability, the criminal justice system obviously sucks at it. Let's get serious and stop letting this stochastic terrorism go unpunished.

Lose your dad to Fox News conspiracies? Should be able to sue Fox News for child support. Lose your husband to a mass shooting caused by some deranged Trumper that thinks Paul Pelosi is coming to take our guns? Should be able to sue trump personally for wrongful death. It's not like Fox and Trump don't know what the consequences are.

    Let juries be the arbiters.

This problem isn't going to be solved without financial liability or violence.

  • How do you mean they misunderstood the point?

Do you mean like that instead of banning you just squelch them instance by instance, solve the problem that way?

That doesn't really help disrupt the thing causing the problem. Really just ignoring it.

I don't know enough about this to have a strong opinion, and again I'm not even sure if that's what you meant. School me.

  • Close but missed it.

Biden was willing until Trump won because with Trump running the DOJ, letting the DOJ have custody of Biden's son is a massive national security risk.

That was never going to happen.

  • If Kamala had won, Hunter being in the custody of the DOJ wouldn't be a national security risk.

  • What Joe isn't saying is that he's not going to hand his son over to Trump to be used for ransom and influence over Biden as a former president and that this has fuckalll to do with the merits of the case or interests of criminal justice.

  • This wasn't because of the merits of the case or the interests of justice. This was a national security move. A Russian agent is taking over the DOJ. We're not going to give him the former president's son.

    Lol.

  • You almost have it.

Let's say they don't pardon Hunter.

Fast forward a couple months to another "perfect" Trump phone call.

"Hey, Joe, we have your son. Here's what you're going to say / do / tell me...."

  • This isn't about justice this is about national security, about who has custody of the former president's son.

This is to avoid a kidnapping and ransom.

  • Braindead take of the day.

Trump plans to wield the DOJ as a weapon.

You want to give custody of the former president's son to Trump's DOJ?

It'll be another perfect phone call.

"Hey, Joe, we have your son..."

This has fuck all to do with the merits of the case or the interests of justice. This is a national security move.

It would be a reckless dereliction of loyalty to the country for Biden not to issue this pardon, given what it very likely to come.

  • You've lost sight of why Biden pardoned Hunter. It had nothing at all to do with the merits of case of the interests of criminal justice. It had to do with preserving the institutions of democracy for the immediate years to come.

You can't "both sides" this one.

  • It's a national security risk to give custody of the former president's son to Donald Trump.

The idea right now is to give Trump less avenues of control over institutions of democracy, and that includes a former law abiding president, his pulpit, and his classified knowledge.

    Can you see that?

  • I just made a post commenting that it's a national security risk to have a former president's family member incarcerated or under prosecution by the DoJ as Trump is planning to run it. He flat out said he's planning to use the DoJ to incarcerate political rivals.

    It's like

"Hey, Joe, we have your son. You need to tell me / support me / help me with [undermining institutions of democracy and our allies], or else."

  • With criminal Trump, having as he does zero respect for laws and legal norms, taking over the DOJ, and literally saying he is going to incarcerate his political enemies, it would be a national security risk for the former president's family to be in federal custody or facing serious federal charges.

  • Some of my best and closest friends were former colleagues, men and women. Just happened naturally. Other coworkers were very close during the work, but then drifted apart immediately when the work ended for whatever reason.

But, don't have a candy dish, don't be too inviting, don't be known as someone who listens to gossip. That's an important boundary to set.

Misery loves company. If anyone reading this has a "friendship" with a coworker based solely on bitching about the job or other coworkers, it's a liability not a friendship.

  • Wish granted. You must purchase and carry an external satellite receiver and upgrade the internal battery with an also external lead-acid battery with fan-cooled inverter. 🪄

  • It would be a TI-83 calculator with a built in walkie talkie. 2.7 ghz.

  • Is this that new camera hack where the led turns off? Jk I don't smoke.
